b18c5 in DB2 HELP!!

I currently swapped a b18c5 with s80 transmission into my 92 db2. All was good until start up. I am using the cable to hydro from innovative. The car acts as the clutch isnt engaging. I turn the key over and nothing happens. Instead of a “clutch” line we used a brake line that fit just fine. Im not sure if it may have something to do with the clutch switch or if its not sending a high enough fluid pressure to the transmission due to the brake line. When first mounted the hydro conversion was bolted and touching the frame. When the clutch was pressed sparks started shooting everywhere as if it was trying to ground, Even though its bolted through the frame by the bracket. By chance is the cable still trying to ground? We did move the conversion away from the frame. I have alot of money into this car and swap and want to get it on the road so If anyone has any Ideas or suggestions it will be greatly appreciated.

You have to use the a B17A1 harness on DB2 chassis. Cant use any other harness than that even if it is a GSR harness…

As for your other problem with clutch someone else may know.

Still has original harness, I had the b17 but sold it for the swap, thanks

Do you still have you cable trany? I would put it back in if you do! I am thinking your problem has something to do with the pedel adjustment. Using the brake line should not effect it. I used Brake line to do a complete Hydro conversion in an EF years ago. You may need to bleed your system again. It could still have air in it! Just a few thing to try! Good Luck!

Have someone watch the clutch fork for movement as you engage it from inside and see if it even moves/how much it moves. You may need to bleed the system again and/or check for leaks. As for the sparks…Post a picture of your setup and maybe someone can see what is going on.

No I got rid of the cable trans, synchro in third went out so I figured I wouldnt bother. Well Ill definantly look into the pedal adjustment. It was leaking a small amount of fluid from the brake line at the slave cylinder so I thought maybe that could be a cause. Thanks alot

Yea the clutch fork moves but Im not sure how much its supposed to move. It moves about half the opening I can see. Im thinkin It may be trying to ground through the slave cylinder when it touched the frame because it was the path of least resistance. Maybe due to the material of the slave cylinder? Thanks alot ng. If you could let me know how much that fork is supposed to move. THANKS EVERYBODY

if i get this right your using a hydraulic transmission with a innovative cable2hydro conversion with a brake line acting as your clutch line???

if so there’s your problem. just cuz u switched to a hydro conversion or even obd1 doesnt mean the rest of your car did lol your clutch cable and shift linkage stay cable transmitted.

so to fix that problem get a oem clutch cable install it and then tighten it from the top till its stiff…

also i would recommend ditching that cable 2 hydro setup. i had the same one on my 91 w/ 96 b18c1 and it snapped in half… i used to think clutch was super stiff till that happened.

i got a hasport setup… 20x different and clutch felt normal.

just my .02 about your problem
