oops they were still connected wrong…shes running now… but hesitating still whenever the gas is pressed… i tried advancing and retarding the timing a little and still the same thing… the plugs were way out at around .60, so i put them back to .44 or so…but i still think i need to replace those…anything else cause a bad hesitation to the point it stalls sometimes???
are b20 and b18 coils the same by any chance???

I don’t know if they’re the same since B20s are obdII but i used my stock b18a as well as a 95 ls’s distributor on my B20Z.
make sure your wires are good
i just replaced the plugs and wires and now it starts and just dies… what next???
My car used to misfire and die also, it turned out to be the igniter. It was replaced and all is well. Make sure to get an OEM one though if your igniter needs to be replaced.
ok i was having the same problem when the b18 was in…so im still betting its all in the distributor that my problems lie… now i have a spare b16a (sir-II) distributor and the one off the b20b, are either of these igniters able to go on the b18 distributor i am using???

Dude, not sure about the answer to your Q but it’s just funny how we had the same motor swap and issues right after. Anyway, good luck.
ohh ill get her…i was just told a CRX si ignitor will work…i can get one from the junkyard cheap
B4 u go out buying ignitors and such…have you tried to see if you are getting any sparks? Also if you cant find an ignitor for a reasonable price…you can always go get the external MSD 1…cheaper than stock
My car was misfiring b4 and it turned out to be a bad injector.

well… it does start… so it has spark… and it runs ok sometimes… so im guessing its the ignitor
but could the ignitor cause it to stumble?? or is that something else?
im just going to go ahead and replace the whole distributor tomorrow…im not messin around with it…
hey, you mentionned the engine starts but die right after and you had that problem before? Could be you Main Fuel Relay… I had the same problem, sometimes the car would start like a champ, but sometimes, it would start, stumble then die… and sometimes it would start and die right after, and also sometimes it wouldn’t catch at all… I replaced my Main fuel relay and everything is fine now!
maybe it’s not the problem, but you could try! The only thing telling me it may not be the ignitor is that the car starts and die after, if the ignitor was bad, the car wouldn’t starts at all! (But maybe the ignitor is half bad!)
HTH!
check cam timing…then go from there…
