i heard that b20 blocks are not good for reving high. this guy how is a machanic at honda said that they have problems with the crank braking. true or not true.
Havent heard anything about that… I have the b20 and i rev up to redline when i want. I took a look at the tach on a 97 or so CRV and it was the same if not a bit more then the b18… so i wouldnt worry about it! HTH

ok man not sure because i have crower cams and i rev pretty high.
Just remember that your block cant handle what your cams can… I wouldnt go any higher then a couple hundred over stock RPM just to be safe… your ECU should actually have a rev limiter unless its not stock?? Just rev safe man…

If you want to be safe, of course, dont rev it above stock redline.
On the other hand, I know a dude who revs his stock b20 block (CRVTEC) to 8K and its still running after 30Kmiles.
It’s definately a risk revving that high, stock.
