B20B swap in California question.
So my stock B18A1 is slowly going and I’ve been searching for a replacement because I don’t have the funds to rebuild it. A family member of mine is willing to part with his B20B and offered it to me and showed me this link: http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=3060132

while reading the thread I came across this post:

“So the word getting passing b20b’s and z’s as of yesterday is that it has become harder for people to find replacement b18’s to run in stock tegs and there is a huge selection of b20s in california honda parts stores and motor tranny shops that they are allowing the b20 in 4door tegs and civics. I wouldnt show up in a crx with one lol. This came from the mouth of the reff manager yesterday.”

So is there any G2 guys out here in California that have done this?

This is the only information I have seen that seems legitimate due to the picture of the BAR sticker.
I got a B20B

… Want a cookie?

Anyone who actually saves a car from a junkyard by putting in a new engine (or whatever repair), should GET a tax credit for saving the energy AND the carbon in the atmosphere that would be released manufacturing a new car, NOT hassle from the state (any state)…

… or a nice warm chocolate chip cookie.

At least in Wisconsin emissions checks are no longer required after 20 years (if the road salt has not eaten your car away by then… :D)

you can throw the b20 in and smog now, doesn’t matter if it’s a 4 door, i’ve talked to my friend who owns 2 smog stations in my area and i’ve also talked to the state ref… fact of the matter is CA needs money and they’re gonna take it anyway they can pretty much…

I currently have a b20b in my g2

Let me kno if you have any questions I’m from the bay

State ref from my community college said you can BAR a B20 in an integra. Since our cars came only with OBD0 and OBD1 we would have to convert to OBD2. Pretty much transfer whatever came from the CRV and put it in our cars. For example the cat, intake manifold, wiring harness and an ECU from a manual transmission CRV.

I took my 93 integra with a b20b to a smog station. The smog guy asked if it was the original motor, i said yes. He did the smog test and it passed.!!! Take it to different smog shops untill you find a guy that doesnt know what his looking at. if you get lucky and take it to a guy that doesnt know much you can get lucky like me !!!
