Back in a DA thank GOD

Well, after a love/hate relationship with my 1993 GS, I sold it a few months ago and picked up a 1994 GSR. I liked the GSR, but it wasn’t a DA. I missed my DA. So I sold the GSR Thursday night and had my eye on this little baby so I picked her up this evening. 1992 Acura Integra GS. It’s got some JDM goodies. Some I love, one pieces, some I’m not a fan of and the might be for sale soon such as the JDM gauge cluster. Anywho, this is one pic that the seller sent me over the weekend, more pics to come soon but this will give an idea. And yes, it’s the color you think it is.

couple of my cell phone pics. Other will be up later tonight from an actual camera

Here are some from this afternoon in my driveway. I’ll get some better shots soon but these will do for now.

You can see the CF trim I was talking about in this one

Nice! G2 ftw!

Nice ride! Makes my rusty-ass, quarter-of-a-million-miles, cracked windshield '90 RS look like complete crap in comparison.

I’m in love with this car so far. However it overheated on me earlier sitting in the driveway running for about 10 minutes. Looks like the fans don’t work but I’m gonna get my buddy at Honda to look at it tomorrow. I’m hoping for a simple fix, but we’ll find out tomorrow. Other than that it’s clean inside and out minus some small surface rust. I am so happy to be back in a DA though. It just feels like home haha.

I’m betting on a fan-switch causing your issue. Hopefully its something easy, as you mentioned.

That thing does look way clean though! What’s the name of the color? And are those LS Mesh wheels? They make my meshies look like garbage :frowning:

Props on the new car… funny how a DA just feels ‘right’ when compared to other models.

Yeah they are meshies and they are flawless. The guy said he picked them up from a tire shop for $100 and they were beat to hell. He sanded them down and then painted them. His dad owns a body shop so thats what they do for a living. The wheels are perfect and the tires still have good tread left. Also the color is RP-21M aka Horizon Gray Metallic. The paint is in really good shape. A couple of chips here and there and a little fading on the roof and some minor surface rust on the fener but it’s very small and hardly noticeable. I’m gonna take some better picks today and I’ll put them up. I am extremely impressed with the interior of this thing. Super super clean. Only thing I am still undecided on how I feel about is it has carbon fiber trim all around the das and on the door handles and all over the car. He said he got it installed at the dealer but idk if it was a factory option or what or idk. To me, it kind of seems borderline rice, but it hasn’t bother me yet. If I end up not liking it, I’ll just paint it all black. My GF said I should paint it green and I looked at her and said “Are you insane?!?!? I said that’s some true rice if I do that, that would look like ass.” I like my stuff clean and simple. This car is clean and simple and that’s why I love it.

This is easily the cleanest car I have owned. I am very happy. Just gotta fix the fans and it will be perfect. If all else fails, we just hardwired my little bros accord fans because they were doing the same thing, so I’ll just hardwire them to the AC or something.

the fiber trim should match ok with the gray metallic… i would think.

i would leave it as is.

that is the color of my da9… but its buried under the slightly better than cheap maco paintjob that was used to cover up the entire car because of the front passenger fender & hood being replacements from a junker.

honestly. they should have just tried to match the fender & hood and left it as is, the paint was in great shape (i saw it when i chipped the hatch trying to clean up the holes after the “integra” fell off.)
i think if it were me, and i wanted to avoid trying to match colors… i would have replaced all the pieces with carbon fiber and been done with it.

da’s are where it’s at. looks pretty clean. how much you pay? if you don’t mind me asking.
as for the fan, maybe try swapping the condenser fan relay. see if that’s the problem

Horizon Grey, dope color. For some reason it looked lighter than HG to me. That’s what coloy my DA was, until the previous owner Macco’d it. Now I fully stripped it and it is being resprayed by me. The macco crap was peeling off the passenger door and driving me crazy.

I like your taste, as you said, simple and clean… the car seems to fit that perfectly.

Moar pics!!

I gave $2500 for it. I probably gave a little more than I should but the guy was in IA and I’m in TN so he drove 14 hours for me to see the car and buy it. Also, there a bunch of extra parts with it that I’m probably gonna sell and get a few hundred dollars out of it. It runs great, everything works and there is a bunch of records I got on it so I know what’s been done since the 1st oil change. I am comfortable with the price even though I know some people would probably say I over payed for it. I’m happy and I can sell these parts so really I paid $2200 or $2300 for the car as it sits.

I put a couple cell phone pics up. I took some pics with my GF’s camera but she won’t be home til later and I’ll go over there and post them up. To my knowledge the car hasn’t been repainted. I did find a receipt in the massive amount of paperwork that came with it that said the bumper had been replaced and painted. What for, I’m not sure but it was just the bumper. If anybody out there would wanna run a carfax for me that would be just dandy.

Looks stellar. I love it. This is motivation for me to get my damn car painted and back together!

$2,500 isn’t horrible. I paid $2,650 for mine two years ago. As long as its clean, and more importantly, you’re happy with it… that’s what matters.

I daily drive an ek, and have a dc, and have a few buddies with Preludes and newer RSXs and TSXs… but there’s nothing like my DA. Dunno what it is, but there is something that feels so ‘right’ about these cars. Congrats on the purchase, I’m a big fan of it so far. :thumbs up:

:iagree:

sweet man! another horizon gray DA! i picked mine up for 1600 and its in fllawless condition. paint is smooth as a baby’s a$s. good luck with it. looks like its in pretty good condition.

Oh I have a question. The gauge cluster is a JDM cluster. But, you see the blue trim? It’s not painted, it looks like on fo those eBay cover things you can buy. How do I get that off? I’m gonna end up selling that cluster, I’m just wondering how to get that gone.

You have to crack the case open (obviously). there are plastic tabs that keep the clear cover attached. You have to CAREFULLY go around and unlock each tab and the cover will come off.

I would think that the blue bezel would just pull off, it should be held on by tension-clips… but I could be wrong.

Wanna trade my usdm cluster for your jdm one?

ahhh I see. Now my other question. This is a VTEC cluster. The redline is around 8k RPMs so that’s how I figure it’s a VTEC one. Is it an XSi cluster? If so how much is something like this worth? It’s showing 112xxx km. Now I thought the JDM clusters had amber bulbs but maybe I’m wrong. This one doesn’t so does that make a difference?

And as far as a trade, I have the stock one that originally came in the car so I’m not gonna be trading it. I have a couple people interested in this thing locally so once I take it out, if it doesn’t sell then I’ll post it up in the FS section. I’ll try and remember to shoot you an email unified if I remember.

Well, last night driving home from the hookah bar, I had a run in with an unknown object on the interstate. Luckily it looked worse last night than it actually is. Only casualty is the stock front lip :frowning:

Not as bad as it looked last night, but it still sucks.

Ugh that does suck… Time for a JDP OE lip then?

damn, wonder wth object that was. some luck tho, driving home from the hooka bar and have that happen. time for a lip upgrade

Yeah I could upgrade, but that requires $$$ which I don’t have.
