Been done with Hondas for a few years, been messing around with SRTs for the last couple years. Now driving over 110+ miles a day for work, I needed something more gas+insurance friendly. I originally bought this car in Cincinnati almost 4 years ago, had 180k on it ran good, trans needed work. Got a deal on a JDM b20b and a cable gsr trans so I swapped them in (gave my buddy the b18, still runs to this day boosted and beat to death lol). When I moved down to Memphis in August 2010 I sold the integra shortly after, but when searching for another Honda last weekend on CL this popped up, two days later it’s back in the driveway. Everything works except the passenger window, AC, sunroof, antenna etc all work. No leaks or squeals, nothing, other than the swap the car is 98% stock.
Glad to see you have come back to your roots for the daily driver action for work relations. Welcome back. I truly respect those SRT-4s. How is the experience of those cars and what was your horsepower and torque numbers on your latest SRT-4?
My red '03 I wrecked in September, front end collision and was recently repaired. Its a full bolt on car, never dyno’d. I have a PTP s3k (stage 3 killer) turbo kit in the garage for it, its basically a stock turbo with a much larger compressor wheel. My biggest drawback for making real power is no e-85 around me. Should make 330-350whp/400ft lbs to the tires @22-24psi. Not bad for a little TD04 IMO. The black '05 I bought shortly after my car wreck, its just been a daily and only mod is a 3in open downpipe. Unfortunatly it has a rebuilt title and needs the trans gone through (TOB, clutch fork probably, 3rd gear synchro). The trans on the '03 is for lack of a better term perfect. Actually working on a deal for an orange blast '05 ACR, will have to see in the next few days.
The integra for sure lacks the kick of the neons, I have to keep telling myself “it’s just a daily, it’s JUST a daily”. Will get lowered and the new rims, odds and ends type stuff for now. $68 bucks a month for insurance vs $256 helps a lot lol. Fact is two days after I bought it, got a call for another job only 15 miles away haha. Back to getting gas every other week!
It’s good to be back, always been my favorite forum by far.
Glad to see someone who has owned as many SRT4s as you still refer to it as a Neon. Yes, technically it may not have been badged Neon… But anyone who has 10% or more of their eyesight will see the connection. If an SRT4 owner gets mad at their car being called a “Neon”, sounds like they aren’t comfortable with the fact that they bought one lol.
And, front LCAs? Do you just need a stock set? Or do you mean Upper Control Arms/camber kit? Just curious.
It looks like the Integra is coming together though! A nice set of shifter bushings make a great difference imo. The 20yo components allow for a TON of slop.
Nah the bottoms ones, just want a spare set to clean up and replace the bushings in.
Badges and special setups don’t change what the car is. A GSR is still an integra, an Si is still a civic etc.
The bushings did help, but the shifter stiffened it up a lot. Don’t let the ad on it fool you, it does not reduce the throw at all (I knew this, was just trying to get all the slop out of it).
Also ordered bump stops from GC, they will go in when I wake up tomorrow.
