Thanks

yes that axle is toast… More then likely is the cause of your vibrations aswell

sounds like you have bad tie rods, jack up the front end untill the tires lift off the ground and shake both tires if there is alot of play that could possibly be the problem with vibrations issues. i had the same problem as you and by chaning both tie rods (problem solved) most of the vibration i had was when i was driving at high speeds and when i shifted gears… try that and see if it help not 100% that is the problem but it’s a start good luck :bowthank:

not to tread jack but what is the song you have on the video

Why would you think it was tie rods when he is clearly showing in the video a sloppy inner cv joint? You can easily check the tie rods by simply grabbing the tightly mounted wheel at the 3 and 9 oclock position and checking for movement. If it is solid with no play, the tie rods are fine. Also, if you grab the tire at 12 and 6 oclock and check for play, this tests the ball joints, upper and lower. If you get play in all of the positions and hear a hum while spinning or driving, then it is probably wheel bearings.

When vibrations happen only during acceleration, and not constant speeds or coasting, it is almost certain to be the inner joint of the axle. Replace it and let us know how it goes. Another possibility is the intermediate shaft bearing, but the video seems to show play in the axle inner cv joint to me. Good luck.

I never said that is the source of his problem, just letting him know it was when i had the vibration problem with my teg.at the end of my post i said i was not 100% that is the problem but it’s a start good luck

bearings inside shot and or worn out badly. If from what u showed. A normal axle does not do that when u grab on it and push or pull it should be snug tight really. Is this happening to the passenger side as well? if not maybe u can do the same pull and push on it if it aint the same as the driver side then yep u should replace it regardless of vibration coz u do not want that to fall out on u while in high speed turning.

it was the axle. WOW
It rides so nice now, errr rides like it should now!

Thanks guys

I’m having a similar problem. Mine shakes during accel and when coasting it’s fine. I just changed both axles and the p\s LBJ. I was going to try the d\s LBJ tomorrow and ck for the d\s tie rod because it clicks when turning left. My d\s axle went bad and ever since I’ve had a bad vibration.

I never new the intermediate shaft bearing could be the problem. Just never thought of it. It could’ve went bad when the axle did. I might try to replace that next if I don’t figure it out tomorrow.

Ok so I have the new axle in, drove smooth and perfect

well guess what. it shakes again

Im gonna check the axle and if its the same problem
I might raise it (im low, coilovers almost maxed)

or I might get a new driver hub assembly becuase I broke a ball
join and landed on the LCA. Might have bent it, even tho this was a year ago
