For the record. My bone stock 1990 teg with orignal motor (head rebuild 4 months ago) and 261,000 miles on it gets 320-350 a tank. It usually takes 9.5-10.5 gallons to fill. Usually I average about 290-300 miles per tank when I run on 10% ethanol fuel.

So about:
30 mpg on 10% ethanol mixed gas
32-33 mpg on normal gas

I do about 60/40 highway/city driving and drive 400-500 miles a week in the teg. This fall and winter I usually warm the car up for about 5-7 minutes each morning.

I have replaced plugs/wires/o2/fuel filter/set the timing/checked for vacuum leaks etc. I get MAXIMUM 330-350KILOMETERS per tank. Highway or in-town. I have yet to figure out the milage, but I would say about 12liters/100km

So did this injector oring replacement solve the poor fuel mileage? My 90 LS auto has 160k on it and had a egr sensor light when I bought it. It was quite the dog needing to spin it up around 3k to get any reall power out of it. I’m getting poor mileage also. I put 8 gallons in just the other day, I’ve got 140 miles on it and the light just came on. So I figure just under 20mpg since 20 more miles and the gauge will be where it was when I filled up 8 gallons. Last week I had a code 16 for injectors out of the blue, it was running ok no lights then I o to start it and barely runs and check engine light. I wiggled injector wires and then I found 1 was missing the clip. When I drive around it seems like it is very rich and unsure of mixture so runs rich. I’ll check the plugs in a few to verify this. But I was mainly wondering about the orings. I’ve also seen where overly rich was fixed by new 02 sensor. Any tips greatly appreciated. I miss my 3G and 30mpg no matter how I drive it. Kent

damn you guys are complaining about gas mileage I wish mine was that good…I get 270km from full to red line no matter how I drive…its ridiculous. is it possible that o2 sensor is bad and not set of cel? if I cant figure it out soon I am seriously considering selling the car…:S

I see that nobody has posted in a while. However I have an idea. I was having the same problem on my DA, I also had a test pipe, intake etc. Turns out the test pipe was allowing the o2 sensor to read too lean and the sensor was telling the ecu to add more fuel for a more rich mixture, which could cause a gas smell at idle and more fuel cosumption, in theory. I replaced my test pipe with a quality converter and have since been getting 31-34 mpg on average. Just an idea, can’t hurt.
I also did everything you did as well as a valve adj. Cheers.
