When I start up my car in really cold weather (night time mostly) and put my car in gear, the tach immediately drops very low (below ~500 rpm) and immediately bounces back up…BTW my car is an auto. My car almost feels like it’s gonna stall…but it never does. I read in the manual that this could be caused by vacuum leaks in the vacuum hoses. If so, how could I fix a faulty vacuum line? Just buy new vacuum hoses?
Also, when my engine is still cold, my idle speed seems to fluctuate a bit…not too much…maybe 100 rpms. My car idles kinda rough, could this be caused by vacuum leaks? Any help is appreciated. Thanx.
hey man, i can relate 100% to you, i get the exact samethings, then they went away… it kept rainming i think my cai kept getting wet or something… i thoght it was that, now it comes back…i think its just our cars? do you hav ea breather , it might be that i tmight not,i have one on my crankcase. hMM… its just our cars i think. because i get that but then it goes away for a while, then comes back for a bit.
either a vacuum leak or maybe your idle speed needs to be adjusted up a little more.
