Bad ignition switch

Oh my 91 DA got to love her, I got her from a friend and during her ownership, she had hot starting issues then after a few year radio and blower shut off issue. I finally took her off her hands and began troubleshooting the issue with blower and radio cut out. We already did the normal diag and replacement (main relay and starter).

One day, I was trouble shooting the blower issue, I thought it was a ground issue to the blower, it share same ground as radio power. I was bypassing the ground to the blower and suddenly during all the on and off of the ignition. I found when wiggling the ignition key and suddenly power was back on.

So I removed the steering cover and removed the electrical connection to the ignition switch. here what i got:
Found the connection looks fine on the outside. but when i took it apart(white cover) found all the contacts to be worn out. I put a zip tie on the wiring to I can wiggle the wiring to regain the powe to the blower and radio. I eventually changed out the wiring.

I hope this helps anybody with similiar issue.

Try cleaning the contacts with some fine emory* cloth.

try to get a new one eventually i had the exact same problem the contacts on mine looked exactly the same i just recently put in a new one and know it works better then ever.
