I got 2 ma’s in a bandpass box (what was i thinking…) and they sound terrible! i know i should’ve listen and get a sealed box bbut o well “I repent!!!”:bang: anyway i was just wondering this morning how would they sound if i was to take off that fiberglass piece that seats in the front? has anybody tried that? well I’ll find out later and let you guys know… maybe i can enjoy it better that way untill i find a better box:shrug:
I’m not really sure what you mean, but definatelly go with a ported enclsoure and or get different subs. I’ve never had any experieice with those subs, but my understanding is they are made for ported applicataions.
Those subs don’t have very good SQ capabilities and will most likelly never sound too good. I suggest selling the bandpass and subs on ebay as a package. You’ll probablly get a lot of interest in it because people like packages like that and is easy for them and get a pretty dcent amount of money out of it.
Then buy a single better sub that will work well with your amp and make a ported enclosure for it.
What kind of amp fo you have and what is your budget if you were to sell your subs and box?
don’t take the vibreglass off the front because that would mess up the entire enclosure and the other chamber with the port where the magnet is in would etiehr be oo big or too small and I’m sure it’ll sound like crap as well. sell the box, and buy Sealed or ported. Never buy bandpass unless you want spl only
I got a kenwood amp 600 watts (old school) and yes i’m gonna sell it in a package i guess… I heard a lot about those jl subs so maybe i’ll try to get 10 tens of that brand; about the box well I’m not sure where to look for it. the ones that i see around are those sealed and I hear they’re not that good… I just don’t know what to do :think:
Cool, you should get a pretty fair amount of money for it. Go to www.caraudioforum.com , www.termpro.com , and www.elitecaraudio.com Do searches up the wazoo for a couple of days or weeks about everything you want to know. Then start asking questions :D.
just wanted to let you guys know… I got rid of that d@nm box (bandpass) and got me a seal enclosure one… HALLELLUYAHHHH!:bowdown: what a difference!! my ma’s are pumping fine in this box so i think I’m keeping them… Oh Adamm: thanks for the advise on the box… just wanted to let you guys know…later…(I can’t wait to get off from work…I’m taking the longest way home so i can enjoy this bass)
