So I’ve been searching for a while now and all I could find was that someone on here had this same problem and they just ignore the light now that it stays on. I really don’t want this thing on all the time, and it doesn’t make any sense because I have a good, 2 month old battery and a BRAND NEW Denso alternator. Had both tested even last week and they are totally fine. So does anyone know how to fix this problem?
could possibly be a shorted wire from the cluster to the alt. the battery light works on opposing voltages. so when the alt doesnt charge, the alt becomes the ground. something to that affect. with the key on and engine off, try disconnecting the alt connector and see if the light is still on
Thanks, I’ll give that a try.
A short in the harness is a definite possibility.
But what I would look at first is the ground cables. You should remove the ground cables and battery cables. Then use a wire brush or sandpaper to make sure the contacts are nice and shiny.
Good Luck!
