Battery relocation question about fuse

Ok I have searched and read a lot about doing the battery relocate but the one question I have is I dont want to use a breaker will a 80amp inline fuse like used for car audio work instead of using a breaker or should i use a bigger amp fuse or just give in and get a breaker?

an inline fuse will work fine. Thats how i plan i doing mine when i relocate my battery.
I have to finish the wire tuck first.

I’ve heard of inline fuses being used, with no problems. I’m just not sure on what would be a considerable amperage for it. I’d just use an inline breaker. Easier to just flip a switch, than replace a fuse (that eventually you’ll have to pay for once you run out of spare fuses, lol)

Yeah, as the others said, a fuse will work just fine. I just find that a breaker is MUCH nicer. No replacing fuses, and you can use it as a battery kill switch whenever you’re working on the electronics of your car. That way you don’t need any tools to disconnect the battery.

ok guys thinks a lot i didn’t think about the breaker being easy for a quick disconnect I guess I will go that way instead of the fuse what amp of a breaker do i need, The lowest I have found in my short search through google is 100 amp is that to big or to small or just right?

100 amps will work fine, just when something shorts, it takes an extra 20 amps to flip it. can start melting stuff at that temp. 80 is optimal. look up stinger in car audio. they have the perfect one. 30 bucks. sweet. but do remember, plz, always place the breaker/fuse within 18 inches or less to the battery and tie that battery down!!! dont be stupid. lol, long story.

I Second Ryan’s post, put the fuse as close to the battery as possible, remember any wire before the fuse is not protected!
