Bazooka amp BA1500 - reviews and opinion people lets hear em!!!

hello everyone

ok, ive done a bit of research on here. no one seems to like bazooka stuff.

i must say, i have the BA 1500 monoblock amp running my L5 and it punches pretty damned well.

im finishing off my system soon and was lookin into a 4-ch amp, bazooka sells one. ive had good experience with my bazooka so far…should i sell the BA 1500 or just keep rolling?

i dont want ‘shit’ in my car, ive got an alpine 7 inch morotized touch screen in it now which will be powering everything.

not goin to be a show car by any means, i may attend one or two, but just looking for decent sound and don’t wanna break the bank.

that was way too long a description…lol

thanks in advance everyone

joe

I have never used bazooka, and probibly never will. Now Im not saying its a bad amp. If you’re satisfied with it then by all means keep it, if not then there are a lot of quality amps out there for decent prices. I picked up a US Amps merlin 2 for my system as it is a good class d amp that can put down around 800watts rms @ 4 ohm, but if I decide to drop it down to 1 ohm puts out somewhere in the range of 18-1900 watts rms. I got a real good deal on that amp at $400. For the 4 channel how big do you want, and do you really need rear fill? I went with an eclipse 2212 (60rms x 2) and got rid of the rear speakers. It sounds real clean and puts out more then enought for the pair of pioneer 6 1/2s it is pushing. Of course I am probibly going to upgrade that amp down the road when I get components but who knows.
btw love the car. I just assumed you were going to build for show.

thanks for the post man.

ive heard some nice ass sytems, dont get me wrong. at the shop i frequent we are building a box for a 94 gsr with 2 15" inverted eclipses’s (sp?) and a…eclipse amp too if im not mistaken. it sounds loud as shit. im not going for records here i just like my bump in the trunk.

may be, after some side skirts and a rear lip of some sort, a nice wax job and some rim shinning i may attend a show or few.

im trying to get my car to a happy medium where i will just let it be and enjoy it. its just hard to do  lol

i agree, there are some decent amps out there for cheap, i bought the bazooka not too long ago, head it at the store and liked it. haven’t had ne issues with it so far. lovin it actually. and they dont look all that shitty either, at least the BA series.

i just dont know, im torn, the car is pretty much grade A stuff. so, for example, wat will people think if i AM at a show and they see everything, like it and then see a Bazooka amp or two?

think it will hinder their judgement in any way?

joe

Honestly I wouldnt really worry about it if you are satisfied with the output and clarity. Now I dont know how realistic of ratings are on that amp, and some people would consider it “entry level”, but there is a lot more to a stereo then just the amp. I would be a lot more concerned about the enclosure, sub, and general install. You said you have an L5 which is a pretty decent sub. I would do some more research before picking up that second amp and then decide whether you want more out of the system or not. Personally I spent a couple good months before I bought anything, and in the end if you’re happy thats whats important. Hope that helps.

ok cool. yea im not sure what the actual output is of the amp. but it puts out more than enough power to the sub and has a pretty decent look to it.

i have MB Quarts components in the front and some JL Audio VR 650 CXI in the rear. very decent speakers, they just can’t keep up with the sub when its hitting.

so, providing the research i do on the other 4-ch amp turns out well, which im sure it will, i think i will go ahead and get it. it looks nice and pushes well and it wont break the bank.

thanks guys, i appreciate the comments. keep em coming if you have some!

joe

sounds good, I would look for something that puts out around 80rms so you can really get those components going. How much are you looking to spend?

well the time has come. im going to gut the car rthis weekend/week and wire the front and rear speakers for an amp.

i think its time to go with the bazooka ba460, ive dont as much research as i possily can and i haven’t heard many ill things said about it.

im just wondering if 60W @4 omhs is going to be enough? i mean i dont BLARE my system or anything,. but you can hear me from a bit of a ways away

so now or never, i either go all out and buiy this amp or someone suggest either ONE amp to rin my sub and 4 speakers or TWO DIFF amps to run with. the box that the L5 is going in will be custom, my guy does great work, so the installation and box will be the very best of quailty. nnot going to run me that much because we’ve becomes good friends (thank god or id owe him a lot of $$$$) but i also don’t want to go and spend 600$ on 2 new amps…or 1 for that matter.

so help a brotha out.this is what the BA460 looks like…i happen to like it…

the 1500 i have looks identical just larger lol

thanks in advance

joe

o and what gauge speaker wire you guys think i should run???

thanks

joe

You should be fine with 4awg, but I would highly suggest to upgrade your big three while you are at it.

Sorry I don’t have much to input other than some advice. If you are serious about your sound quality ditch the indash dvd thingo. Most of them don’t have the same level of customization as head units without the dvd built in. Buy a standalone dvd thingo and cd/mp3 player and make ur own custom system. I have an old pioneer 8600. I don’t think I need to explain the features of it. NO I’M NOT SELLING IT.

thanks for the advice but ill stick with what ive got.

im not trying to win any cmpetitions or anything and im rather happy with the quality of my unit as well as the speakers paired with them.

thanks

joe
