First off I’ve researched this topic and I’m introducing a new twist on it and also trying to get two birds with one stone.
My car is a 91 RS
I know this topic has been partially covered. But My car beeps at me kind of whenever it wants to. There are three distinct sounds that the car makes. One when you first start your car and your car beeps five times from the left side. (typical not worried about it) Two when you disconnect your seatbelt while driving, which comes from the right side. Three The music box sound from leaving your headlights on.
The sound is the First it’s the sound that the car makes when you first start your car. but it beeps like once then 5 times then like twelve times then maybee three times then stop for a few minutes then it’ll start up again. It’s completely random.
Now problem two: My Oil light blinks at me too. (my car has some issues) now I know the car has plenty of oil and I know that it’s making plenty of pressure or my engine would have been dead by now. I’ve even gone to the point of clipping the OPS (oil pressure sensor) wire lead, it still blinks at me. Now the Light blinks 50% of the time and the other 50% of the time it’s just on solid continously of varying brightnesses.
Now heres where the two problems tend to come together, When my car goes into its fit about the beep it beeps in perffect synchronization with the faulty oil light. Even when the car stops beeping at me when it resumes it will either catch up or slow down to come into sync with the light. Like the car may beep half or 3/4 of one beep to catch up to the pattern already established by the flashing light. It’s bizzare to say the least.
Is my car trying to beep some error code or something, oh yeah when I check the ECU for error codes it comes up with nothing. The car appears to be healthy.
Are these two problems connected somehow? My theory is that the Computer for the Light goes in cycles and the beep goes in cycles and the two run together and thats why they appear to go together, its because they are running off of the same power, basically.
I’m probably going to just dismantle the beeper behind the left kick panel.
Thank you for reading this long boring post.
Any help on either of these problems would be greatly appreciated.
Travis.
