alright if you are lookin for some cheap mods you on the right site cause if you go to the top of the page and click on teg tips you will find many things that are cheap(some FREE depending upon the level of your mechanical skill) also just about everything the people in this forum have said is a good idea but however i would wait on the suspension. Winter is pretty much here and once the snow and ice comes your not going to like it. When i got my car i made sure it was runnin right and the usual car care then made minor engine mods to get some performance just until winter comes then break into engine mods, then i made sure that the body was in good shape and took care of cosmetics(its a summer job more so then a winter)
Hope these tips are useful hit me up if you got anymore questions
Peace
Buy a Teggy thats pre-modded! (j/k) I bought my 90 GS with a B16A a Short Ram intake & rewired foglights, other than that it was bone-stock. I put new bulbs in the headlights, replaced the intake filter, put on a new breather tube, changed the oil & filter, replaced the plugs(NGK all the way!) & wires (Ractive 9mm=friggin sweet). I’m also going to upgrade the dizzy cap and add an external coil. This weekend I’m removing the front bumper and getting rid of the intake resonator and I may even extend the intake to CAI style. While changing the oil I inspected all the cv & rack and pinion boots, most need replacing. I’ve got new axles to go in it-screw replacing just the boot, I’m doin it all (axles, CVs & boots) at once to avoid excess labor charges-, also a new clutch (oem replacement). Next step is new brakes (I’ve got xdrilled/slotted rotors waiting) for the front.
Basically I’m replacing/upgrading anything that needs it, then I’m gonna start really modding this bitch out-better suspension & probably boost- this is my daily driver so visual mods will be at a minimum. Though I do make my own carbon parts, so the interior will look pretty wild but outside it will look VERY stock, I’m not even putting on different wheels.
Man i just bought a 92 GSR last week…man runs fine for me and everything is bone stock…no noise, no rust, no nothing wrong with the car…perfectly good car to drive around…the only dumb thing is that the last two owner that had this car, they’ve been running this gisser on unleaded regular…i was like DAME! i thought they run on premium only…i mean its ok to substitute for regular gas if there aint premium around…its just that the car will lose a lot of horsepower to it…so i was thinking about doing something to it once it hit spring or summer, but dont know what to do to it yet…i was thinking…is it necessary that i could change the fuel filter, then start putting premium gas up in it so that i could attain the full power of the car? not just that, i was thinking of changing new spark plugs to NGK since i bet nobody didnt even changed it…some oil change and filter etc…then it should be able to give that certain amount of power back rite???.. but as of now, gotta maintain the car for this winter…its just a thought of what i might need to do later on once spring comes up…
:werd: It seems you are very new to this, and you have alot to learn…I may be wrong, I may be right…How long have you been driving a stick? I know it takes alot more time to get used to than you think it might…You are only improving over time…Leave it stock and make sure it’s mechannically sound. Learn to handle the 5-speed better (if you don’t already know), and wait until you learn alot more about cars and differenced in engines before you decide anything… :read:
