BEHOLD! All will bow before my mighty CUP HOLDERS!!!

Check it out. Last week someone mentioned that you can get cup holders out of a 87-94 Ford Taurus/Mecury Sable and they will fit in the 1/4 Din panel below our Stereos. Well I went to the junk yard and got two. Now one is in my car.

Below are some links to the pics, sorry I don’t have anywhere that I can host them from. It looks really clean and there isn’t really a clearence issue with the shifter. 5th gear is as close as the shifter will get with the cup holders all the way out, and there is about a 1/4 inch gap.

I have yet to put cups in there since I just got it in about an hour ago and I’m at work;) . Its really stable though and I’m sure that it will hold things just fine.

I’ve got a second one with out the coin tray if anyone is intereset.

i’m very interested. How much?

How much do you want for the one without the coin tray? Can you get some more with the coin tray? Lemme know. Thanks.

Wow definately worth considering. Would be cooler if it didn’t have the writing, but I suppose it shouldn’t be a big deal removing it. Thanks for the heads up!

This should be ARCHIVED… Here’s the flag: “ARCHIVE THIS”

How big a cup do you think you could put in those? Just 12oz cans or biggie sized drinks? Looks really good BTW! Almost OEM. Well, it is OEM but I mean OEM for the g2. I’m done now…

Here is the one with out the coin tray. And it doesn’t have the little things that come down under the one in my car. I may be able to get more…if anyone wants me to.

$20 each. Gotta make up for the time I spend searching for these hard to find items.

There is a peice on the underside that you have to shave off ane make it flush. Its a bracket that is used for mounting in the Fords, but its not need in our cars and it gets in the way too. 5 minute job.

I would say a Large McDonalds cup. But again, I haven’t had a chance to try it out.

bwaha, just go to your local junk yard… Anyway to remove writing without marring plastic? Perhaps finely sand that white off of it, cleaner:cool:

Its just a sticker, peal it off and some Goo Gone should work. If you’re talking about “Cup Holder” and “Coin Tray”…just some really crazy cleaner and elbow grease should work.

any cup holders from 87-94 Ford Taurus/Mecury Sable??

do you know what year you got yours out of??.. it looks like they fit perfectly!!

I think it was an 89. It seemed like the cup holders only came in the higher modles of Taurus (if there is such a thing;) ). 90% of the taurus’s there didn’t have this.

pretty cool…

but i have the stock cdplayer in that slot… i guess i’ll stick to my cup holder on my vents! :stuck_out_tongue:

Did u have to removie the bottom din? cause ihave a kit that hold my stereo , and the kit comes with a replacement din below the stereo that’s connect to the top part that holds the stereo so i can’t take out the bottom pocket, will that be a problem?

You have BOTH spots full? What else is in there besides your CD player?

Yes I took out the bottom DIN. My stereo sits fine ontop of it. They both fit in so tight that they hold eachother in place VERY well.

Nice one Steve. I still want the armrest though.

I picked up an genuine armrest for 25 CAN a while back

that cup holder is sweet! I want!
I’m gonna go searching for one now

Looks good. Too bad my car is so low, by the time I got home, most of my drink would be in my center console :stuck_out_tongue:

My mom drives a beater mercury tracer wagon with the same 1/4 din cupholders. I think Ill trade my coin tray for it.

Sweet!

arm rest

I got an armrest for 5 bucks from the junkyard.
