Just need something not as loud as the glass pack wit the Magna flow exhaust…shit gives me a head ache
Take it to midas and have them put their stuff on it? Get a tip from an Autoparts store you like, and have them weld it up to the new pipes.
it should not bee to expensive. In reality, the tip will probably cost more per pound than the rest of the exhaust though.
no
DO NOT GO TO MIDAS. My 'teg has a midas job of replacing the cat. (the cat was welded on to pipes. the heat shield was secured by 2 self tapping bolts and spot welded on one corner…so one corner was hanging loose. had to get my trusty oversized hose clamp to get it secured.) and the piping and muffler after it. The piping, I might add, looks like crap. After 2 years or so, according to the service records, its starting to make noise…i dont know if it’s an exhaust leak, cause when my car’s warm it sounds like a dirt bike… i would find a good aftermarket one.
If you don’t want it too loud and want it not to sound tin-ny, you can go full exhaust: header w/ test pipe and keep the resonator, and get a can with a silencer and leave that in. This set up sounds low and not too loud at high rpms, and when you let off the gas it doesn’t sound like a bee in a can. BTW this is the set up I have with the exception of the resonator, I had mine but opted to replace it later, so for now I have just 2.25" pipe. HTH
Tseudo exhaust arent bad, they only are fit the 90-91 unless u get their “high flow cat” because they dont have an extender pipe for the 92-93. Or u can use a 90-91 header.
By a muffler off ebay, get a glasspack resonator and take it all to a professional WELDER, not an exhaust shop. U just need to cut the pipes and mark em b4 u take em.
get a pacesetter exhaust not reel loud. You get full catback for only like 230-250 bucks got 1 on my teg. The exhaust piping is all black and the tip is chrome about 3.5-4 in round.Piping is 2 1/4 in
When did you get the pacesetter? I’ve only heard bad things about 'em.
I’d say get a Flowmaster exhaust. They make a rear section for us. It’s shealthy black too. The bad part is no mid-pipe, but you can get one made in a bigger size (2.25 is good) at a good muffler shop. Make sure they make you a mandrel bent one though.
After that, get a header and an intake pipe. Should get some good power and a great low rumbly tone. Not to tinny, not too growl’n.
had 1 on my 88 integra sounded great, now have 1 on my 91 not reel loud at all
???
Had My Cat Gutted Out, And Had The Collector Removed, And Replaced With Straight Aluminized Exaust Around The Bend…into A Flowmaster Muffler With An Exaust Tip. Now I Hear A Tin Can Sounding Vibration Under Low Rpm"s. What Should I Do To Eliminate That Vibrating Tin Can Sound???
i have to say the flowmaster muffler doesnt sound bad at all. my previous muffler took a dump and the muffler shop told me to go flowmaster and that he had been doing a lot on civics because people didnt want bling mufflers. he put one on with a 14 in resonater and it sounds good and not loud at all.
ES oval. Nice sound and affordable.

Tsudo Cat-Back isn’t that bad for the bargain. The power gain is noticable and the way it sounds is great. I have one on my 91 Ls and its very quiet on idle and not “very” loud on accelerating. I’m not sure if it’ll be louder when I install my DC Headers and Hi Flow Cat I still have laying around. I payed 200+40 shipped for mine and so far I’m satisfied.
since my exhaust tips are old n have holes in them, i want to replace it with a single tip, but if i cut and weld on a single tip
would i notice a different in sound?
Skunk 2
I just got my skunk2 cat back and i am waiting for my ds-s header. The cat back was only 415 on ebay not a bad price for the full stainless system. I will let you know how it goes on.
2.25 piping to stock muffler =) sounds stock and looks stock too
+1 on the es tuning muffler that digital recommended. I have one and it’s quiet until wide open throttle. Nice sound.
Snorky: There won’t be a sound difference from your exhaust based on what tip you have.
The ES Tuning muffler, is this a muffler similar to the stock one? If so, any good sites to get one? Is this a “generic” type muffler? As in would I need to buy it based on size as opposed to application?
I am getting more interested in a stock-like exhaust setup with 2.25" piping, being that its 16 years old, and starting to rust out. My Y-tip’s “crotch” is rusted out now, and the chrome tips are now movable.
Operator you can find the es muffler at www.inlinefour.com and also www.jhpusa.com. Not sure of where else. I believe there is a model of magnaflow that is exactly the same, not for sure though.
I was thinkin full cat back with mine. What header would go best with that?
