Best tranny for my car?

Hey there guys i was wondering what you guys thought would be the best tranny for my '92 Teg LS/VTEC…im putting out 194whp and am i desperite need of a shorter gearing tranny…let me know guys.

I would look for a G2 GSR YS1 or JDM YS1 tranny. Or you could just look for some ITR gearing and just throw that into your LS casing. It’s not that difficult. Let me know if you have any other questions. And nice numbers BTW.

I totaly agree with Dan the 92-93 trannies are a better route. I went with an S1 which is a 90-91 the main and counter shafts are different sizes than the later models and limits you on what gears you can put on them. Although it does have the 4.4 Final drive. if i had it to do all over i would go with a 92-93 USDM GSR or a JDM tranny (YS1 or Y1) with a Hydro GSR 5th gear swap and then put a Quaife in it…

Dan did you ever get that G3 GSR 5th gear swaped in your YS1 ??

Don’t forget if you get a 90-91 TRanny you will need a 90-91 Clutch disk…

Yes, I did get the 5th gear swapped into my GSR YS1. I love it. I’ll put up a product review here in the next couple of days…

I did have a Y1 tranny in my teg but it was messed up cause everytime i was in 5th gear it crunched even at low speeds, although i felt a real difference in the tranny itself it was pretty good, how could i get my hands on either?..any suggestions?
