best whp for all motor B17 ?

What’s the best whp for all motor B17 that you guys have acheived? B17 that has ITR, CTR, etc internals are included.

BTW pls list your mods. TIA

I THINK ANYTHING FROM 200-210WHP FOR A ALL MOTOR B17 ENGINE IS GOOD. RIGHT NOW MY CAR MAKES 191WHP WITH THE STOCK HEADER AND STOCK EXHAUST. PLUS MY CAR IS UNTUNED. SO I HAVE A WAYS TO GO.

did you use ctr piston to get the 11.7 comp?

200-210whp out of a b17a is amazing!!! I think “good” is an understatement.

take for example G2Guru’s b18c. Its a gsr block w/ itr internals, itr head, portflow head work, toda cams, jun header… (see his member profile for all the details) and i’m pretty sure he’s somewhere inbetween 200-210whp… and thats out of an engine that is substantially bigger than the b17. Of course he is only running 11.1:1 compression, higher could yeild some good gains.

AllMotorb17: care to divuldge the rest of your setup? like what cams you’re running, if thats on race gas, what intake manifold, etc, etc…

ctr pistons in a b17a yield 11.36:1 To get 11.7 you’d need some aftermarket pistons. Or of course you could use ctr’s and mill the head, but milling the head ususally isn’t the best route.

i would like to see a dyno chart and along with 91integgs, would like to know some of the mods done to achieve such numbers, especially with a stock header and exhaust.

MY MOTOR

Hey guys, I thought that might wake you up…hehehe Well my exhaust system is stock except for the cat…its a test pipe. Oh yeah, my intake manifold is stock also…hasn’t been port matched or anything. If you guys think im bull crapping about my hp numbers, i promise ya’ll im not(Call performance Direct @ 1-804-226-1948 They know what my car is making). As of right now my car runs a 14.00 @ 98 mph (car weight in at 2695 lbs Heavy!!!) untuned with alot of stock parts still on the motor. Don’t worry I will keep yall updated on my goal of 210 whp on the B17A motor. Now to some of my mods…I do have CTR pistons, Skunk2 Springs and retainers, skunk2 SS valves, Exedy clutch and flywheel, strenghten stock rods, head is fully ported and polished, modified oil pump, stock fuel pump and injectors for right now…im on a budget like you guys. Aftermarket ECU, fields vtec controller, and Jun III cams.

were you running race gas?

do you have a copy of your dyno sheet? you gotta have that guy somewhere… we are curious to see what your curve looks like.

and are those numbers SAE corrected?

only reason i ask, is you have some serious bottlenecking in your system that there’s no real way around. TIA

191 to the wheels is not too shabby on a B17A. What’s the torque curve look like? Considering the weight of his car, his e.t, and the power numbers that he claims, a little number crunching will show that his figures are sound.

impressive numbers… and with th right amount of tuning… i can;t wait to see that 210 coming np. and what tq u hitting in that thing? and curious as to the oct rating of the gas in VA? 94 right? we only got POS 91 in CA :frowning:

Im just curious as to what size injectors you are running…seems like your still running stock injectors?..anyway i put down 194whp on my fully built ls/vtec and i had too upgrade my injectors to 310cc cause the 270’s were maxed out so it’s pretty hard to believe you could still be running on stock injectors.

Unfortunately I am still running the stock injectors. Yes, I do feel them starting to max out around 8700rpms. Other than that, it’s fine. My ecu really dumps a lot of fuel. Down in VA we have 93 and some parts 94 octane. My dyno run was made with 50% pump gas and 50% 110 octane. That was to make sure I didn’t get denonation. Don’t want to mess the new motor up yet. Hey guys, I just want to know what kind of power you guys are making with the B17A motor. At first, I thought this setup wasn’t going to make a lot of power. This engine really surprised me. In my opinion, the B17A is better than the B16A. I will keep everybody updated on my progress. Is 210whp possible, we’ll see.

You have no idea what a budget is! How much did it cost you for all that you got runnin now? I soo wanna drop a nice built b20 in my teg, but i don’t got enough cash to do it, unless i wanna install it myself, with my severe lack of mechanical skills.
