Okay I have a leak on the passenger side when rain happens, its not a huge leak but small, but after the hard rain last night out here I go in my car and there’s a HUGE puddle of water on my driver side floor. I never seen any threads talking about the driver side for a leak. WTF??? I am so lost right now on what to do.
Dude, I’m in the same shit as you are - except the huge puddle is now frozen here on the eastern seaboard!
hmmm i can live with my passenger side leaking… but the driver side? damn tough dude. try and diagnose the leak… poor water and see where it is coming from.
Wow Matty, I was shocked to see that this leaking issue is with you. Honda-Bond the area on the passenger side, you may end up using the whole tube…this is what I did. I also used it to seal around the cover as well…just make sure you do it while its dry… Have you replaced the windshield lately? The person who put it back on, may have not sealed it all the way. I say this only because there is nothing to allow water into the driver side.
when it rains, i had water dripping from the front of the seatbelt rails. i took off my pillar covers and i see that it’s coming from the top corners of my windshield. guess what? i push at the corners outwards and my windshield moves! i guess the seal dried up and cracked open. i had 2 big rock chips and millions of lil rock chips and they slightly blind me when it’s sunny so i just called the windshield shop and they replaced the whole thing. no more leak in my cabin!
hope that helps.
Well, I wash my car all the time and never had any leaks into my car, and even rain from years ago. I’ll be looking into this after I soak up all the water from the floor this is really depressing.
Hopefully you find the leak before you have electrical issues
I looked under the dash and can’t find anything leaking (poured water on the windshield constantly), this is weird.
Check the sunroof…I know it seems odd, but if its not shut all they way, that could be your problem…or there may be a leak or if the drain tubes are clogged, then water cannot escape. What about the door hinge area?? have you drilled any holes and left them uncovered??? something just doesn’t seem right. you need to sit in the car and have someone with a water hose with out a nozzle, just run it in different spots. you may find your answer that way.
Hmmm…Doors. Like Mustangs and their infamous clogged drain holes… Check yours. because you have to remember that water actually runs into the doors and if you don’t have that plastic barrier to seal stuff from coming in your going to have major issues.
The seat wasn’t wet or anything, I will check the sunroof drains and other drains. I don’t have any drilled holes anywhere, so I’m going to have to probably sit in the car while someone just pours water on it.
My brother had the same problem, but it was his CB7. What we did was he sat inside, while I was outside, and I just sprayed the hose on the car until he found it. One of the leaks, someone changed the route of one of the sunroof drain hoses, and it was running water straight inside the car, and also there was a slight hole in the wheel well, which could also be a possibility. On my DA, I used to get the leak also, I ended up ripping out my sunroof and now Im just gonna get a carbon fibre roof cap. My leak in the DA was the sunroof drain hoses also, clogged up, and someone put plugs in them.
Could try these:

The plastic pieces get brittle with age (like the rest of us) and need replacing.

when i first bought my da and it rained i noticed a puddle on the drivers side too. so i got a water hose and water came in from that side i just couldnt tell from where.
i ended up take the fender off and to my suprise there was a big gaping hole with one thick black wire running through it. apparently there is supposed to be a rubber seal with enough room for the wire to run through it.
so i bonded it up and did the water hose trick and i have never had anymore issues with it. i searched and never found anyone with this same issue with the rubber seal that was missing. hopefully thats all for you. be carful taking the fender off not to scratch ur door like me(doh)
fixed yet?
Hi,
So it’s been raining often here in new england and noticed for the first time that I have a water leak in my driver side too. To be exact, it’s dripping from the seatbelt rail right abover the power windows switch. It’s not much water but enough to get the switches and trunk/gas release tab wet. I read that iogearz seem that have the same problem as me but I dont think it’s my whole windshield since it looks pretty good so far. Anyone have this issue as well? Thanks in advance for the help.
From the seatbelt rail means, one of your window seal is messed up or has a hole. I had that happened to me. I found out it was coming from a hole. someone tried to break into my car and made a hole with a flat head. you should check along the line of the window sealed. It should be at the top of the driver side window. That stuff that keeps air and water from comming into your car.
amdj, just check along the seal. have you tried pushing at the corner to see if it moved like mine?
This thread is old as hell, but anyways.
I found a leak in my DA. Drops of water drips from above the fuse box and over the fuses and into the carpet on my driver’s side when it rains.
Any more ideas? It’s not the side window i thiink.
Still no ideas on driver’s side leak?
Thanks for any input.
double check.
could leak in and run inside the plastic trim or car frame to where you are describing.
instead of waiting for reply’s you should have it figured out by now.
I certainly wouldn’t ignore it, end up shorting out the fuse box or something.
