Big pic from my Last DE/TT

Me mid way through a slolam being chased by a Cobra R and a whole gaggle of very fast cars in the background waiting to lap me again. But I held my own and picked up second in my class of 10.

Nice

wrong forum

Oohh this would be the perfect first thread for the new forum

:werd:

Blame the extra weight of the passenger on you getting lapped.

Off topic note, I got stung by a porteugeese-man-of-war the last time I was in corpus christi. Not fun.

nice. i think i might have to use that for a desktop background.

and i see a porsche carrera turbo and a 911 2.7, nice.

those suck just like with any of the Cnidarians stupid stinging cells :frowning:

nice shot… !!

Is that the NASA Texas region? What track is that?

Cool picture.

No, it’s PCA, and it’s an airport track. It’s an active airport and a runway right next to the main straight is active, so everyonce in a while you can look over and see a plane passing you on the other runway, it’s kinda surreal.

nice. suspension details? including alignment settings if you dont mind

ah, alignment, it’s done to factory spec’s aside from camber which I can’t adjust. I need to get a new one done as it is tracking to the right now, but that’s after I get those trailing arm bushings from OPM.
Suspension:
Shocks: ots Koni
Springs: Ground Control ARHK with Hypercoil springs 375f & 450r
Sway bars: factory
Strut/Tie bars: Nuespeed front upper, Matrix(might swap out for oglesport versions) rear upper and lower
Bushings: Prothane, all bushings except rear trailing arm, and rear upper control arm
Misc: Ground Control top hats
Wheels/Tires: Kosei K1’s shod with Yoko es100’s
Brakes: custom(bling bling yo) slotted rotors, with Akibono pads, and super blue brakefluid. I’m still getting very bad fluid fade though I need to come up with some solutions.

Handling is very sharp at all speeds, it has great turn in with a good midcorner response. Great low speed response, with almost zero understeer, and mid to high speed is nuetral with liftoff oversteer, at very high speeds it gets hairy since lifting in any sort of a turn can make the car a bit squirrelly. Braking is good, I was out braking a couple Porsches at the end of the high speed chicane, but once again I was getting very bad fluid fade.

And that’s a summary of my suspension changes.

Oh, btw the results for that event are here, they are the second list: http://www.rgvpca.org/event_results.htm

 wow so youre good with only the stock sways?

Is anyone allowed to do a TT, or do they require a certain amount of experience?

Anyone that pays the entry fee, and can pass tech is allowed to run Time Trials.

I was going to say that I don’t like the idea of newbies doing TT’s on an actual track (little/no runoff room, tire and concrete walls, etc.), but I suppose if it’s a clear lot…

TT’s mean competition, which mean that people are going 10/10ths, and if they aren’t that experienced, then things can get hairy. NASA requires HPDE 4 experience at least out East/Midwest.

I would like to do one of these things however.

The only thing you risk running into out there is a landing light, and we remove the ones that are at risk.
