Blacking out one pieces..

I’ve tried to search any info regarding this matter but couldn’t find any. Perhaps I’ll show some pics and instructions on how to do it?

I’m going to try it tonight… wish me luck!!! I’ll assume it’s the same process as clearing out your taillights…

post pics and tell me how hard it is. ive been wanting to do this to my spare one pieces but took apart my tails and that totally turned me away from taking apart lights.

there is an article w/ pics on this on this forum

thats the only good one

I tried my hardest looking for that guide, but i ended up just winging it… although I did do them a little differently.

I couldn’t get any pictures because my digital camera DIED just when I was going to start taking pictures.

But all in all, it’s a lot easier to crack these open than the tail lights for some reason… Also, use a heat gun, but be sure to spread the heat evenly, otherwise some meltage would occur.

Heat the headlight (lay the heatgun on the floor standing up (mine was made to be like that)) and hold the headlight in your hands carefully heating up the headlight evenly all around…

I started from the foglight area out. But all in all, it’s the same way as doing the tail lights. You will need rags and a few hand full of flat head screw drivers.

I’ll try and take pics today and show you the before and afters… I wish i was able to take pics WHILE i was blacking them out…!

did you see the link i posted above???

here it is again http://217.160.249.230/forums/showt...t=black+housing

thats cool. id definitely like pics. ill probably do it, but first im painting my moldings. and getting new wheels/tires

Here is one picture of about 20 hehe…

This will be my new sig.

Ok… here are some pics of the before and after shots of the blacked out headlights.

I wanted to take detailed pics but my digital camera ran out of batteries!!

These two are the before pics

and these are the after pics

what do you guys think?

It was a lot easier to do the headlights IMO than the tail lights (that was a bitch)…

mdt115 your car is sick…

I think that is the cleanest motor swap that I have seen in a long time dam…good job. Is it b17…just wondering again dope ass car man

they look good. in this pic, i want the black part on my lights to be a little thinner. the part between the fogs is too big for me.

Hey… I know what you’re talking about… But basically I just painted any of the chrome pieces that didn’t use the light reflection. Masking the lights was a long process; to make sure you mask anything that you don’t want painted, and masking that part that you are saying that you don’t want painted will be pretty difficult (just so you know)… but yeah, if you can, spend a whole day of free time to do your lights. You won’t be disappointed…

The only thing I wish was that the black being more…noticeable…

jdmthis808: Thanks dude… how did you know it was a swap?

what year vtech is that is it a gsr and if it is did it come with the right side up intake manifold

black widow. please not you are on a Gen 2 integra site and g2 integra GSRs had the b17a.

it’s a first gen b16a.

Great teg. This might be a dumb question, but what type of front lip is that?? I’ve been looking for one like that. Is it the Type R style Lip?

He said VTECH

LOL i love it. VTECH. what a guy…hahahahaha. He’s too used to spending money at best buy and buying up the V-Tech phones. LoL. Damn tho, those headlights are clean. I wanna do that, but I dont have the balls. I did a hack job on my old tails trying to clear them out. Then again I used the oven to do it, so that’s probably not going to be very effective. Nice lights tho. They look just like the ITR. mucho props my man

k im gonna do this to my one pieces but how long do i leave them in the oven and what temp i couldnt find these and how do i get the milky filmy look out of the lens so they are perfectly clear? plz help me out
