im not a competative audio guy, i just have blown 6.5"s and these arnt too expensive, will they sound OK and will they last?
I’m not sure about those in perticular, but if you want speakers to last, look for some with a rubber surround instead of foam. They tend to sound better and last longer.

Oh, I had Blaupunk speakers once. They were better than blown stock ones 
well, im paying $25 shipped for a pair of them, new in box. what do i have to lose? my old blown stocks!

They’ll be good. My boy has the same ones. Puts out clear quality, trust me
my reasoning is that there really is no “better” surround… foam is lighter and easier to “move”, whereas rubber is usually more resilient to cold and stress… however, think about it… JL Audio, one of the top speaker companies in the world (not my preference, but whatever), uses foam surrounds. However, many other companies use rubber. The reason they use one or the other is entirely dependant on the characteristics of the driver itself, and not because "foam is better’ or “rubber is better”.

That’s because there’s a lot of misconceptions in the world of car audio… especially with noobs…
It takes a lot of research and knowledge to put together a great car audio system that will blow people’s minds with its clarity and richness. Most of this cannot be achieved by simply plopping equip. into a car and turning up the volume… attention must be paid to every detail of the system.
Kind of like when ricers wanna be fast… .they slap a bottle of naaaaawz into their car and expect to blow everyone away. Well, if they have bald tires, shiity driving skills, and a weak clutch… that stock Cavalier can still beat them. The cavalier driver may have better skills and such, can whoop the ricers’ ass easily.

Because you flamed me for my opinions and gave me a :gay:. I think flaming someone for no apparent reason and that had nothing to do with any of your questions or this thread…is something very small and childish
I don’t try and argue with anyone, people just give false illinformed advice with no reasoning behind it and the majority of people beleive it because they said so… and don’t know any better themselves. Not because they are stupid, but because they are simply illinformed. Then everyone who read that thread then beleives that false informataion. I simply try to inform people for their own benifit. That’s what this forum is all about right?Exchanging our ideas and helping each other out with what we all have in common… cars. I’m trully not trying to argue or be a smart ass in anyway. I just ask people there reasoning behind why they think and would say that. Then they usually get defensive because I’m questioning what they said and NO one likes what they take as a blow to their ego or knowledge.
