Dimming rearview mirrors

Gextex and TSX

Why don’t you just use the glare “switch” that’s built into the mirror?

http://www.hotbuystation.com/category/RM.htm

I only flip that switch when there’s a big ass SUV behind me, and since I’m lowered, I get the full beam straight into the mirror. All the other times it’s fine.

Now if you have a broadway mirror, you lose the nice glare switch huh? That is the main reason I don’t want to get that one. Any other mirrors that we could use, possible from another honda that is bigger and only needs slight mods?

This is why I got a blue tinted broadway mirror…no glare from headlights at night…but can still see fine during the day.
Innocence was selling them in the for sale forum.

That’s the strange thing… I don’t remember having a problem with glare with the broadway mirror either. I think their curved design eliminates it.

eh waht are you guys talkngi about. I have a broadway mirror. it clips onto the exisiting mirror right… you still ahve full fucntion of the switch thingy to lwoer glare from behind you.

I didnt try adjusting the switch because it adjusted it down. Can you see the rear fine?

flip the switch so the mirror is in the down position and then adjust it so you can see out the rear. when a truck or something comes up behind you, flip the switch up. you can still see out the rear thru the reflection off the window.

i thought this was common knowledge?

VERY MUCH WORTH THE MONEY.

Detects glare and automatically dims for you. Comes with Compass and Temp built in

If I had the extra cash I’d buy one. Lexus, among others, uses this technology created by a company called Gentex. Gentex uses its proprietary, solution-phase electrochromic technology in which they sandwich an electrochromic gel between two pieces of glass, each of which has been treated with a transparent, electrically conductive coating, and one with a reflector. This causes the reflection of bright light to automatically dim the circuit board.

Mike

I would never spend that much on a mirror.

It all goes back to what is important to you.

Is there a film tint that you can buy to cover your mirrors???

I know that in Japan, Honda offers diff colour mirrors for whatever reason.

hmm i dont think id want it tinted. i need a clear view of the womens i might see

What i meant is that the tint would be blue in colour, just like how the TL’s, Benz’s & BMW’s have their mirrors tinted.

I should have been more specific. Sorry

i gotta be honest hear i cheated i have an auto dimming mirror, but i didnt spend a penny on it… my dad works at a gm dealer so i got one out of a escalade

Can I be your friend? I’ll email you my address and you can send me one of those mirrors. I will pay you personally for your help.

got any pics? how easy was it to install?

it was actually very easy to install it is only 2 wires for dim only you know hot and ground…

of course i redid a mount so it still is mounted to roof like stock… instead of crappy glass mount.

hey if we get any totals in my pops work i will strip a few off… but any harness modification or installation will be up to you…
