BLKACK1's Build Thread

I’m confused how they work is all. I can probably find them local.

really nice build. congrats!

Thanks man:)

here you can see that there is a flat section before the threads,

when you pull the 2 ends together, crushing it basicly. that part with no threads actualy pushes out and folds over holding it in place.

They make a tool thats a big treaded rivit gun, you could most likely get your hands on, but I just used a long bolt(you need one thats threaded all the down, I made that mistake) that I would screw the rivnut on so the flange sat agains the bolt head, set it in place and put on a couple of washer and then a bolt. the i had a freind hold the nut in place, while I took an impact driver to the bolt head. worked like a charm :stuck_out_tongue:

I suggested that as well, and he does have one on his other motor, but like he said we did as little cutting and extending as we had to, incase there any problems. Be on the look out for my build thread in a little bit though, we’re going to get down with my tuck

Done.

…I saw your tag and read this thread …wow man, this is absolutely great… your ride is comin along… I was kinda sad to let those arms go but at least they found a good home (or homie) keep it goin… do you know if those rear trailing arms fit on DB1’s …if so, gmail me some instructions when/if your ever bored…

I’d rather it be mounted to the TB and extend the wires a few inches than to mount it to the firewall and run a vac. line to it.

Just saying.

Yea, I completely agree with you. But this is Glynn’s build, so I went with it.

Im pretty sure it would work on the 4 door due to the fact they have the same suspension settup. its pretty strait forward, Once you get everything off. the thing just drops right out
if you have any specfic questions about, just post em up.:read:

That was just a personal decision on my part. to each his own:)

It would be more than a few inches and even then, Its just a couple more wire im gonna have to hide on the engine harness. this way its out of the way, nothing was cut and still should look nice and clean:P

Its gonna be a good night, craig and aggazi are coming over and where going to try and finish it up:rockon:

Wahoo :ohyeah:

main harness is finished up, wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. we got the holes drilled, wires all run. and i finished looming it all back up today:rockon:

Let the record show that this is how craig felt about this project:)

hood release cable relocated and finished harness threw the appron.

got the headlight on and figgured out the routing of the wire

All Said and Done.

with in the last hour me and agazzi got the dash back in. Word up on the vents. All mine where busted to shit, so good looking

Now its time to get in there and clean the shit out of it:P

Almost there! Next up: engine harness

well I took advantage of my day off and set out to get the interior back in and I managed to get alot acomplished

I started off by getting the guage console in

from there i came inside to finish cleaning and installing the new vents into the console cover piece and preped it to be installed in the dash

got it put in and cleaned up the combo and acc. switches realy good and got all of those on:)

I finished it all up by putting in the rest of the dash and interior pannels except for the pass knee trim, because I still need to get in there.

then craig came over and wanted to see some lights, I was a little currius to see if everything work like it should aswell

the Moment of Truth:up:

Its been a good night, now I just need my hondaparts.com order to get here and we can get the motor in:ohyeah:

No work done tonight, but JDP & DHL made my day:rockon::rockon::rockon:

Heyyy! You got the lip. Very nice. Really nice work so far man.:up::up:

Thans bro, that picture realy dosnt do it any justice.

Anyone got any good tips on drlling out the mounting holes. John at JDP, said to take the bumper, line it up and use a nail to mark the drill point and work my way from the center>>>>> out, Sounds easy enuff:hmm:

This morning I pulled the transmission off of the LS-V and got the motor up on the engine stand so we can start getting the engine harness’s mocked up.

I also recieved word that my hondaparts.com order finaly shiped and should be here on mon, so maybe, just maybe ill try and get the LS motor into the car one tuesday. that is, If its not chuck full of BS that I need to handle on my one and only day off:bang:

Ohh baby :naughty::cool:

Haha, I just got a pack of those new rainbow twizzlers today, and that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the wires :stuck_out_tongue: and where the fuck is your clutch pedal? lol

 only if the wire tasted as delicious as they look:P

The clutch pedal is there. is just pushed to the foor board right now, it gave me some where to put my head whill I was working with the fusebox:)

I didnt get much done yesterday cause I went to the Street Tuner Shootout at bandimere yesterday. but I did finish up a little more of the engine harness and this morning before I even left for work. Fedex droped of my honda parts order:rockon:

Some updates

I got the last piece I needed to get the LS motor finished up so I can put it in the car and to secure the harness to the firewall inside the cab.

progress on the harness

Craigs steady hand hooking up the guage harness connection

1 harness down, 1 to go:rockon:

well over the last week ive managed to finish up

the tuck
the misc odd and ends to get the motor ready to drop
and finished up my wire tuck write up thread which should be posted in the near future

And the most recent update is. she now officaly has a motor, thanks alot guys for the help getting here in, so expect pics tomarrow:up:

here are some pics of the progress made over the last couple of days

yesterday the motor went in

tonight I concentrated on getting a lot of the little things out of the way. I got the map sensor and engine harness connected, Fuel return line. and feed line

I made new ground wires, the other 2 came up just short so i upgraded to 4 guage wire. I also picked up some red cable for the starter but was one fitting short of finishing up all the power and wiring connections

Also got both axels in and the tranny filled:rockon: all thats left is to get get the front crossmember and intake on and give her a couple of spark plugs and test fire before body pannels start going back on.

On a side note, I came to find out my brand new gruber power battery was dead after only 3 weeks of being down. the people at gruber industries are giving me a full refund, no question asked:up: so I have to order a new battery as soon as the refund clears
