Supposedly it has XS power stg 2 cams and upgradded valve train and a ebay sk2 knock-off IM . Need less to say i have not heard the best thing about them and plan to uprade for the build,[/QUOTE]

I was out enjoying my new suspension the other day and while going over to a friend of mine to check out his new wood flooring for his house and the car started sputtering and just as I pulled into a parking lot, it shut down.

After getting back to the house, I wasnt getting any compression on cylinder #1, so after pulling the V/C and the spark plugs. It was very obvius that the valve on the intake side droped out.:bang: from the looks of it, it looks like the retainer just came out cause the spring dosnt apear to be broken or compressed as the other valve for that cylinder. It dosn’t appear to be any damage to the piston, but I wont realy know untill the head comes off.

with that being said, instead of pulling the head while its in the car. Ive decided to just swap motors a little sooner and upgrade and replace any damaged parts(if there are any) durring the build for boost.

On a side not with a little help from my brother, who just got back from the navy the other day. we repined and put on a new plug on the engine wire harness for the disribtor.

thanks aggazi for showing me how to depin those:up:

new plug depined

out with the old, in with the new,

here a great reason not to leave wire harnesses on the garage floor during a part out:giggle:

all done

Stay tunned, this motor comes out and the other motor should be going within the next couple of weeks:read:

Some teaser pics of my next projects that are in the works:naughty:

Looking good Glynn, hope to see it completed. Btw i will have pictures of the new teg up tomorrow. i am just happy to start with a cleaner shell.

Updates-----------

I finaly got a little time to sit down and update the thread before I head out to the garage for the night and early morning to do some more work:)

The motor has since been pulled and is sitting next to the LS on the garage floor and Promptly after pulling the motor the power stearing was out of there, I mean that night:D just no pictures:angel:

Getting ready to be pulled

In addition to that I pick up a EF manual stearing rack from a little junkyard excursion me and MRPENNY took

Along with that i got a bunch of black interior pieces and if it hadnt been raining for 2 days strait prior to that day I would of pulled the carpet witch looks to HAD been in great shape.

On to the big project at hand, The Tuck

Im doing a full wire tuck in the engine bay, Im not going to go into it to much here cause as I stated, Im doing a full write up that is already a 4 page word document and thats just the Pass side:up:

Heres a couple of teasers for you ladies and gents.:salute:

Well, Im headed out to start the drivers side, stay tuned:ohyeah:

Got some new parts.

I got these off of member ruabeyo, thanks man, ill make sure to put them to good use;)

Also got my TPS sensor that I ordered the other day and I just couldnt resist putting it on. Its still needs to be adjusted to spec, but I cant do that till i get power to it.

Last but, not least. I got some more work done on the tuck. I got the map sensor bracket modified, painted and installed. took a little bending and triming, it came out great IMO:)

and mounted it up last night:rockon:

Just got word by email, that JDP just finished my new lip:rockon:

cant wait till it arives

I also ordered some parts to get the motor in and to put the finishing touch on the tuck

pics of the tuck!!!

anything you want a spefic picture of, other wise most of them will get posted in the thread I start for it.

im down.

ill just wait if your gonna start a thread on it… i might start a wire tuck thred on hai??

Nice thread. Why didnt you just located a TB with the MAP mounted on it? Link or more info on the “rivnuts” please?

that reminds me, Im going to go bump that thread in the meets forum

I’ve been writting a little bit at a time. im just to busy and tierd after work to put in any work at home I need to get a hold of a mod and see if they can help me out with things like picture hosting and other little things to make my post easier. hopefully in the next week or two, I should be able to finish it up, get pics loaded and put in the correct spots and post.

I had thought about it, but to keep the wires cut and extended to a minimum, I fuggured this would be the best way to go.

I got the rivnuts from a local nut and bolt supplier, they make them in all sorts of material, I opted out of SS cause of the $$$$$$ figure and went with aluminum to prevent rusting.

I had to google rivnut after I saw another members setup (soontobe2ndgen I think). I would be happy to pick up some for any member as long as your willing to pay for them and ship, and maybe a little extra for my time and gas;) all that was need to set them was a couple of washers a bolt and a nut as well as an air impact wrench to snug them down.
