BLKACK1's Build Thread

I should probaly add this.

Of course in true moded car fashion. the other night I noticed a small coolant leak under the radiator. Of course the 90 degree turbo coolant drain line fitting went bad. I went by petersons fluids to pick up a couple of caps and pulled the turbo coolant line and caped both ports. ill order a new fitting and have it fixed upon its return home. shouldn’t have any real effect on the tune.

Playing with my camera on the new phone, random shot from the pics I took…

Videos to come

Awesome numbers glynn! Congrats!

Hell yeah! That’s a nice powerband also. Must be a blast to drive. Congrats dude!

Good number and I like how that curve line just keep going upwards.

Wohoo! Nice numbers Glynn. We are doing well, I will email you my cell. Number look familiar :), LS ftw. How much boost? Also, is this the “calibrated” chart? I bet you were making more power than Dyno is showing with that turbo.

Where are these videos you promised…? :tapfing:

Im working on it lol ive got well over a dozen videos, spent the last 3 hours sorting and labeling. almost there. TONIGHT there will something posted

Thanks for all the compliments fellas im really happy with the end results. Car was on the Dyno for about 3 and a half hours, Had a couple of hick up with the WG(dosent seem to be holding a steady boost pressure) and theres a problem with the Anti Lag, every time I activate it the car dies or wont start. Gotta figgure that out still.
I took it for emissions this morning, actually got it on the dyno this time but of course between 2 guys and 3 try. they couldnt keep the car strait and the throttle on point so they pulled it off and told me I need an alignment. Just drove strait as an arrow on the way to and from the springs(100mile drive) wtf… I think im gonna raise the car and give it a little bit more of a street alignment on monday and give it another shot.

any who on with the goodies…

Nice to have it back on the road, eh?

It sounds incredible… Did your overall numbers increase, or was this mainly smoothing everything out? Either way, awesome stuff! Such a great feeling to get a car on, and more importantly, OFF the dyno and have things work out in your favor.

I don’t watch many LS dyno vids, it took a second to remember why the redline seemed ‘low’ :stuck_out_tongue:
Though with a fat powerband like that, high revs definitely aren’t required!

wow Glynn your engine bay looks spectacular!!! loving the header:D

I had the same issue once with my car on the smog dyno, it just wouldn’t stay centered but the car drove straight. If I remember correctly the caster was way off, but the rest of the settings were outta whack a bit too. Regardless, you can set all of that on your own with a few hours work. I hate doing home alignments because they’re a pain but it’s much more affordable than the alternative.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It sounds amazing!

is 11.0 your final a/f ratio? that’s super rich!

Damn sounds good! wish I knew you were there, could’ve stopped by after work, is on my way home.

On other news this thing is registered and passed emissions. Don’t see too much of it in the garage now xD

Please don;t disappoint me and not take every opportunity to blow off on people. people at bus stops need to hear this lol

I do this in the daily… I’m such a child lol.

Glad that this beast is up and running strong.

It’s been snowing all damn day here, enjoy!

I usualy would but lately free time is something that I havent had a lot of so I took it to firestone and had them do a good street alignment on it for me.

Ryan, Whats up buddy. thanks man, means a lot coming from a man with such high standards :D. shoot me a text. I dont seem to have your number in my new phone…

you have no clue man, Im loving every minute of it. still not readdy to put her up for the winter time :D. Servions Map resembles nothing close to mine, which goes to show how much of a change he made to it.
I had them do a base run on my tune so To scale the gains for you.
Colorado speed and chasiss dyno rated it at 210 hp/200 tq
Revolurtions base line pull rated it at 190 hp/180 tq

four hours/couple minor issues later she is at her current numbers. I agree, Ive always had a low redline so thats nothing new, but the new power band never gets old

Thanks sir. I need to get my shit together so I can get that TB. Ill try and call you later…

Did the adjust the caster? Unless you tell them to do it, I don’t think they’d even touch it because it’s normally not adjustable on our cars.

it wasnt officaly done with the tune when that video was taken. in its final state. its actually tuned to around 11.7 at WOT. I initialy thought that was to rich but after talking to Servion. he explained why he shot for that ratio and it made sense to me so Im fine with it being a little rich for safeties sake…

Well you gotta awnser your phone brah

you would of been proud of me. think I scared some little old lady walking up the street while I was down town today

HEHE, you and me both  we finally got a little bit yesterday but wasnt enought to stop me from driving the teg today! lol

I did ask them to adjust if it needed to be done but I cant recollect right now if they actually made an adjustment to it…

well on to my updates…

SO the car did fail its initial attempt at emissions but servion made some corrections to my map that leaned out the cruising area of the map a little bit. I uploaded that tune at the emissions facility, ran it and to my surprise it passed with flying colors. I promptly put my good map back on as I was getting ready to leave and headed right to the DMV to get my new tags  I was so excited. I ended up driving the car all over the Denver area for roughly 6 hours… LOL happy to say that there were no major malfunctions. I am getting the faint hint of coolant. I think its time to go upgrade all my OEM hose clamps with something a little stronger.

I do still have a couple of minor issue to resolve. 1st the antilag feature is not acting right. it wont let the car start when activated and kills the engine when activated while running. 2nd the WG is not holding steady boost. its not all over the place but you can see it fluctuate back and forth. I was told by servion that if that was a Tial. that the boost would be strait and solid as a rock, so at some point I might invest in one but in the meanwhile my synapsis will work just fine.

Lastly, I really need to get cracking on fabing up my coolant reservoir. got all the fittings. pipe and bungs that I need. Just gotta start putting it all together and get it welded up and figgure out mounting points so they can be added and have the whole thing finished up with a little powder coating.

Enough talk, on with the pics.

some more from the dyno

Get a little flip book action going, got these while I was at Mark 7 picking up some parts for the wash.
