Still here I see, hope everything is well, I love this build. Haven’t been on g2ic in a good while since I parted out my turbo DA over 2 years ago.
Looking good man! Glad to see you’re still working on/driving this thing! You’ve had it a long time now and every time you update it looks like more fun!
What up G2’ers Im still here and have some great news. Car runs great, I have put almost 10k miles on this motor/turbo setup. I have had some minor issues in that time including the leaking turbo collant line but nothing big enough to tear down and fix. However last summer I found a nice crack in my down pipe as well as some very minor cracks in the manifold and the secondary reason it was time to take it back apart for repair was a lot of busted exhaust header studs. Lastly and most importantly. The 2nd gear slider took a crap so It would pop out of gear under low load. This was the straw that broke the camels back. Ipulled my spare trans out for parts but my transmission guy thought both gear stacks looks a whole lot better so with a new set of carbon syncros. the new gears stacks were installeded into the old case that has new bearing and SCHA. I also opted to try a diferent style coolant line and fitting for the turbo collant lines in an efforts to fix my coolant leak and lastly. My fan was making quite a bit of bad bearing noise(ebay special) I purchased a Fal fan that is also 2 inches larger in diameter and that is mounted to the chasis so it doesent totaly ruin my new radiator.
Videos to come of start up and following E85 tuning. time to turn the boost up:rockon:
Colin, Long time man, Glad to see you still around.
E85 and 21 lbs…
Wish I could could post the vids I have. LOL Im ready for some track days this summer…
Thing straight rips!!
:burnout:
I need a turbo now!
Looking good man! I’m sure it’s a blast to drive!
Looks sweet.
Yooooooo…
glad to see you still around and turning wrenches brother!
Nice updates! How does that trans feel? I recently put in my rebuilt one and DAMN it feels so amazing.
So i went back through the thread and am still slightly confused… is the manifold full custom or an off the shelf unit thats had the wastegate passage modified? Also, what size turbo is this?
impressed to see full radiator setup with a ramhorn!

car looks good
YO brotha, Yes sir, not as often, I like to drive it more then wrench on it right now. Trans is amazing, smooth shifts, slots in perfect evey time however have had its issues, on my second clutch cable now. now I see why everyone goes hydro tranny however I just learned to addapt with out. learning to rev match all over again is hard…LOL but works like a charm.
Got lots of updates, just need more time to start uploading pics. Vids availible upon request
full custom, but thats not to say its not an off the shelf unit with minor modifications. Running a full Rad for this set up was a manatory thing and was a make or break objective for this whole project. Turbo is a 3076R
Thats a lot of reading, Thanks for the dedication:up:
Thanks for the love people. got lots of updates, New LED light set up, minor issues that have croped up. Got a new WB sensor, legend brake pads and ignitor unit on the way to keep up with some needed maintence. Even turned up the boost a couple lbs in sencond gear. Shit is vicious on the street, Need to get to the track. looking at some time in july hopefully
Expect pics and vids on next update.
Looking good!
Cant wait for the update of this.
that time has come, Have lots of vids but none I can post. Run into a couple of maintance issues with the teg. Front brakes have been put off for quite some time now. took about 1.5mm off each side of the rotor. Took 4 four passes jsut to get it strait. My own fault. they should been replaced 3000 miles ago. One of my HID ballast was starting to fail so decided an upgrade was needed. Retrofit would be ideal but time is always of little availibilty now a days so I setteled on a LED option. HI/LO hit, Build in cut off/ easy install, Works for me:up: I was so impressed, I ended up replacing all the bulbs with led on the exterior of the car. Also replaced my WB AF Sensor only to find the same problem and after some further diagnosis. Ive come to learn that my quage is in fact on its way out. Im thinking its time for something new, currently thinking about a plx but im just keeping an open mind at this point.
looked at some track time but life has been to busy so still trying to make it by end of summer.
new on the left, old on the right
On a side note, my lady says we found my twin
Any one remember this thing. Hes still around and has big plans
