block build up Questions?

I’m gettting ahold of a b16a block with less than 40,000 mile on it for a real cheap price… I wanna build it up with everything so when i get the head, ecu, and tranny and drop it in i can run 75-100shot of nos. I’m not real sure what i need or what brands, what do you guys recomend so it can handle the extra added horses from the NOS.

also does the tranny, head, and block all bolt up pretty nicely because i plan on doing the building and the swap on my own w/some friends. And installing the internals on the block is that possible for me to get in there and do it…get back to me on what you guys think.

engine build

If you are talking about building the engine while in your car, it woulld just cause problems for you. You have to seperate the engine from the trany anway to get the crank out, and the head off to get the pistons in, then you would have to deal with trying to keep all debris ou ot the engine. If it is even possible, you would be causing yourself moer work then you would be saving.

He said was getting a used block so it’s probably safe to assume that he’s going to be working on it before installing it in the car. Anyhow, as for building an engine, the difficulty is kinda relative to your experience and mechanical skills. Since your asking whether it “just bolts up nicely,” I wouldn’t recommend that you just start wrenching bolts and ripping things apart. Keep in mind that by opening up an engine you can also risk destroying it if don’t know what your doing. If your really serious about engine building then get a helm’s manual, look at the procedures, and decide for yourself whether your up for it.
