I’m not sure what’s going on as it’s very random. While running the air conditioning or just the blower itself (i.e. the A/C switch isn’t pushed in) the blower would suddenly shut off. If the A/C was running, it would shut off as well. I would try to use the switch to turn it back off and on but I get no response. The A/C switch won’t illuminate either. It seems like if I wait a few hours, it will function as normal but it wouldn’t be too long before it shuts off again.
Any ideas what the issue could be? I couldn’t find anyone else with similar symptoms.
I haven’t actually had this issue, but I have replaced the blower motor. The blower comes out the bottom where the passenger feet goes, I’m wondering if someone accidently kicked the wire loose.
Does this happen on any speed? I would start by checking the resistor. It’s easy to get to, just pull the glovebox out and it sits right on top of the blower motor housing. I would unplug it, unscrew, and make sure all the coil looking things are still attached, not looking all beat up. I doubt that’s the problem, but if it is, at least it’s a cheap fix.
I’m leaning more toward your blower motor being on its way out. However, the switch not illuminating makes me doubt that and think it could be the switch as well.
I have this problem from time to time as well. I took it to an AC repair shop and the lady just looked under the dash and told me there is a loose plug. It’s white kinda oblong lookin plug. I just take it out and plug it back in and that usually fixes the problem.
