Anyone know the area the price would be to fix this up?
i was thinking about cutting and welding a new sheet, and i would paint it mysefl
If you are going to do that then it would just be the price of materials. Unless of course you dont have the tools. The gas door though, you may have to buy a new one or sand it down enough i would go ahead and get a new one though. It’s only 26 or 27 dollars new from the dealer.
Honestly, Dont waste your time trying to refurbish the shell.
If you have rust THAT bad on the body, Imagine what under the car is like.
That’s where most of the road salt get’s into.
Just get a new one. Because at a body shop that’s about $800 in work (not including paint).
Try taking off your rear bumper cover and see what that look’s like to under it.
Ouch, damn that’s all the way through. Check your frame and under carriage…its probably bad like what was already said.
fuck man have fun with that. I just dealt with the rust problem. I though i barely had any man, and it turned out i had SHITLOADS. My car should of been scrapped and got a new shell. Its going to be way worst man, mine wasn’t even that bad until he started grinding it down it goes deep in there man. Its like cancer spreads everywhere. I paid 4000 for a complete colour change, body work the rust killed me have fun. If you do it, do it rite or its just going to come back dont be cheap, unless you dont give a shit about the car lasting.
Best to get new quarter panel!
that’s nothing…i sold my hatchback to a friend 3 months ago & the b4 & fater pics are below…my step brother crashed into a pole on his way to our work…+ this is a wisconsin car & winters can be hell here…the kid has minimal bodywork experience. he basically bought fiberglass mesh, bondo, bondo hardener, resin, metal, & sander/sand paper. he sanded the WHOLE body down, got rid of ALL the rust & primered it black…for the big rust gaps where the bumper would not connect & in the wheel wells he cut & bolted metal to the place, bondod it & sanded it till it looked OEM…this car went from being know as “the little blue rocket”-b18a1 swap w/ some bolt ons, to a friendly car swap commuter/project car after winter, to a indefinite project car. although the kid is a total ricer, the car has turned out right i guess. it has (parts added) 17" chrome rims, repainted primer black, no rust, JDM side moldings, JDM mirrors, B&M short throw shifter, exhaust, muffler, headers, AEM intake, fuel regulator, gauges, a B16A1 SWAP!, custom shift linkage. now the car runs 14’s all day long…so it basically went from a project car, to a friend, to a beater, to me, to a friend, to a fast car

anything is possible…i think the kid spent $300 total. he has sanded it 2x & reprimered it 2x + he has a sander at his disposal…you make the choice…learn from your mistakes.
so tegfan…since your in GB maybe we can meet up & i can take a look at your teg just for shits & giggles. my email is nate.slack@gmail.com … since your in GB you’ve probably seen me driving around in GB in my black db1
My teg has the exact rust and the exact shape on the gas door.
NO LIE!!! But I don’t have the rust on the panel. For my gas door,
I sand it down to where I can’t feel anymore bumps from the rust. Then I
bondo and sand down. Looks pretty good.
Good luck getting a quarter panel :giggle:
Hey I remember that hatch, I almost traded you! Looks great
