I want to get the cylinders bored .25 over how much am i looking at i tried calling places but they don’t do it.
About $20/cylinder.

i have called machine shops and the thing is they won
t do it i don’t know why they just don’t does anyone know where i can get them bored at in the illinois area???
You need to call an automotive machine shop, there are many different types of shops. Assuming you are calling the correct type of shop, you also need to know that some shops wont “touch no nip made mot’r”. A V8 friend of mine made this quite clear when I went to a shop with him.
Or perhaps you are phrasing your question or request for service incorrectly. If you tell them that you’d like your cylinders bored from 81mm to 81.25mm and they give you the “Homer Simpson with a doughnut” stare, go elsewhere.

Hahah… thats what I am dealing with here in Grand Rapids. I will have to save all my engine work for when I get back to my nice home in Seattle, WA

wassap GIBSON i kno its real hard to find a trust worthy and affordable shop, but try giving GARAGE KWAI a call and maybe they can send you in the right direction. dont go to APG because they do poor work and rip you off. my friend took his head to get it ported and polished and on the intake side it was so rough you can cut your finger on the edge. very very poor work. DRIVERS IMAGE is knowledgable but be prepared to pay an arm and a leg.
BTW: i might have a spare LS motor for sale. the only problem that i know of is that the head is cracked. shaving it down might fix it but im not exactly sure. talk to me if you interested
reley apg does shitty work i would of never guessed aronold is cool as hell well i know top speed is out of the question 2 and drivers image is so far. where is this place you are talking about and do you happen to know how much it cost…thanks
um i forgot exactly where its i only been there once. there number is 847.259.6960. yah i thought APG good until i saw their work on my friend’s head. its really ugly.

Are you serious? That’s cheap. Does that include the cross hatching along the cylinder walls? I’m not sure if that is honing or not (what is honing?).

Periods?The $20 is just to bore a single cyl., that doesn’t include honing, if I remember correctly that’s usually $15/cyl.
If you look at the thread, Gibson isnt using periods… otherwise I got your back LC.

hey derrick i dont know how down you are to travel but i used to work at a place in jackson caleed performance auto on east michigan (the one in front of the meijer) and i know my friend dave can get your motor machine work done he runs the machine shop he builds race motors all day (V8’s thought) but he also has done the work on my rx-7 and my crx if you want i can hook it up just let me know
