Bought some 1-pieces..... White fogs??!

Alright, I just picked up some jdm one pieces from a buddy. I haven’t installed them on my car yet, but I decided to hook them up to a battery to make sure the lights work. Headlights are fine, they’re a soft blue/light white color… the outside lights (Running light, yes?) Work, and are a bright amber…

but the fogs… they prettymuch match the headlights. There isn’t a hint of yellow. I removed the 2 screws on top of the fog and popped the bulb out… the bulb itself is clear. Looking from the front, the reflector is still installed. Soooo… has someone previously opened the lights and removed the yellow capsuls? Or are the bulbs supposed to be colored… or…? I’m kinda irritated by this as having yellow fogs actually works well in the snow we have here.

Are these like the legend foglights? Can I swap my legend setup from my usdm lights to the jdm ones? I’m kinda confused.

So in the jdm housing is there supposed to be a yellow reflector? Or is it a capsul like the legend ones?

yup. but wasn"t it a trend a while ago toseperate the lenses and remove those capsules? I seem to remember there being a write up or something about it. maybe you have one of modded ones

Alright cool, got that all sorted out. One more question…

I got the Password;JDM harness, but I’m not sure the wires are correct.

On the usdm (drivers side) harness the wires are like:

          Red/yel
  Black.        Red/Green

But the password jdm harness has the wires crossed so its like:

          Red/Green
   Black.        Red/yel

Question: Are the wire colors supposed to match straight across? Or does the Dimmer/Flash-to-pass wires differ in position on the jdm teg?

1-pieces: Questions!

  1. Did all JDM headlights come with yellow fog capsules?

  2. My JDM headlights do not have the yellow fog capsules installed. Can these be installed from the back of the housing? Or must the light housing come apart and the capsules insalled from the front?

  3. I really don’t want to risk breaking something, so could I just buy some 35watt yellow H3s and use those? Will they look decent?

  4. I’m still not sure whether or not my password:jdm harness is correct… Could a member here with 1-pieces tell me which colors you have running which pins? I know the ground goes to the left side, but the other two I’m not positive of.

  3. you could try it. haven’t seen one yet. try it!
  4. the harness is correct. if you get the plugs from a 96-00 civic and match the colored wires, they are like that = switched.

I’m debating opening up the lights, but one side already has a small crack and i’d really hate to make it any bigger. Decisions decisions lol.

I may give the yellow H3s a shot and see if I like it… for some reason the idea of white fogs is annoying the shit out of me. Grr.

just be VERY CAREFUL when taking it apart lol. and make sure you seal it back together really good.
