bouncy idle...

i have a 1990 integ and the idle bounces from 1000 - 2000… my only guess is a bad throttle spring which has happened on my friends gsr… but i’m unsure… any other possibilities??

check and top off your coolant level

reset your ecu

if that doesn’t work then it may be your TPS or IACV.

oh yeah… and the car takes forever 2 warm up… the temp gauge barely goes up after like 30 mins of driving…

if its the tps then you’ll need to replace it. but most likely if its the tps your ecu will throw a code… at least its supposed to.

i recommend pulling out your thermostat and checking to make sure its functioning properly. or it might even be the wrong temp thermostat. If its busted, or the wrong temp, then replace it, and top off the coolant.

does it stop after the car has warmed up or no?

still idle’s bad after it has been warmed up.

I remember when my alternator was screwed up i had that problem but it would stop after a while.

  1. change thermostat & flush coolant system, if its taking forever to warm up. And reset ecu.

  1. Check for a vacuum leak on your intake manifold hoses.
