Brake light on Dash comes on in corners

I’ve checked my fluids in both my main resevor and in my abs resevor. They were both a little low and I have filled them back up. However the same problem still exists.

When I go through corners or I hit the brakes pretty hard, my brake light on my dash comes on. My ABS still works and my brakes feel normal.

So whats going on?

this may sound strange, but check the switch on your handbrake. follow the wire and see if the switch is loose.

I know for a fact that its loose. I took that plastic part off to swap my carpet and I know that I forgot to hook it back up. I didn’t think that would make the light come on though. I’ll hook it back up and see what that does.

I had the same problem on my 94 teg. Check it out, you have nothing to lose anyhow.

True. I’ll fix that tonight. Thanks.

Sup Steve, you seem to know where the E-Brake cable runs…how do I tighten mine? TIA.

You’ve got to take the whole plastic part that is around your e-brake handle off. Pop the plastic cover off that is right below the handle, then take the two screws out. The whole plastic part should then slide back. You’ll have to twist it and kinda figure out on your own how to take it out from between the seats.

Once this part is off, you’ll see the two cables running up from under the car. There are adjusting bolts on each one, and from that point its pretty self-exlanitory on how to tighten them.

Good luck.

there’s also 2 nuts at the back of the console that you can acess thru a small cover similair to the one on the front…you’ll need a deep socket to adjust these though without taking the entire console off
