my brake lights do work, but when you apply the brake, none of them light up…not even the one in the window of the hatch…so i checked the fuse, it’s fine, i checked the bulbs, they’re all fine, even tried it with new bulbs, same thing…friends i work with were telling me its something electrical, possibly a short out somewhere, maybe in some kind of solenoid somewhere in the cars electrical system…
so what can i do to fix this? any of you know, or had this problem before? let me know, thanks guys
got pics of what it looks like? and are they all the same, so it doesnt matter what parts store to get it from? or am i better off with an OEM honda one? how much do they cost approx.?
sorry a brake light switch pic is not in high demand round these parts =)… if you can get OEM your better off imo. not knockin parts stores products, but factory honda products are VERY reliable. cost? i have no idea… when mine went out the dealer replaced it for free … might wanna jus give them a call and see what they can do for ya on that. certain things have lifetime warranty deals like seatbelts etc… might wanna mention you believe its a saftey hazzard and see what they say… but i cant imagine it being more than 15-20 bucks… jus call the dealer on monday or hit up your local pep boy’s or whatever you have in your area tomorrow =)
hi,after reading this problem,Ithink yes it could be the switch but just to maybe save you time open your hood and check the horn fuse as the horn and the brakelight relay are on the same fuse also an easy way to find out if the fuse is bad try honking the horn. If thats not it try the switch and if the switch is ok…
you will have to get a test light and track all the wires which takes alot of time and means taking alot of the interior out sorry man I had the same problem and after all the stuff I just said it was just the bulbs???Don’t ask me how they all burnt out at once they just did hope this helps.
