Brakes Clicking, No Idea what it is!

Ok, I tried to post about this before and got no real answer. When I would brake, as I came to a complete stop I would here a “click…click…click…click…” and then I would stop. It was slowing as my car slowed. It was definitly coming from the rear so I took apart my brakes and the inboard passengers rear pad was worn on two different angles. I didn’t know what the cause of this was so I just replaced the pad and threw on a spare pad I had laying around. Well, it went away for 2 days and the clicking is back today. What the heck is this??

Thanks

Mike

I get that same sound sometimes, but it is the opposite as you… if i spin my tires too much or Really take off from a light or something. But the same click…click…click sound. Hope someone answers this…

i had that happen to me and it was because the little metal thing that pushes down on the middle of the pad was broken. you can buy the hardware kit from pep boys for 10 bux i think, but it fixed my prob.

I would also suggest checking the pad retaining clips. They and the caliper mounting bracket will cause pads to wear at different angles.

I’m not sure why that would cause a clicking though. I would suspect that to be more of a wheel hub/bearing problem.

What would be making the clicking noise though? This is so messed up. I hate driving around and clicking to a stop everytime, it’s embarrasing.

the pad kinda walks up and down and clicks. that hardware kit comes with the pad clips also…
