Brakes new, but squealing...

I got a complete brake job, front and rear, in November.
Anyhow, recently I have been noticing that the brakes squeal really loudly when braking moderately hard. Is this normal, or are the pads worn prematurely? I had calipers, pads, rotors, and brake fluid changed all around.
If this is a normal thing, is there any product that will help lower the amount of brake squeal I’m getting?

Thanks.

According to the mechanic I work with:

If you are using a “standard” <–meaning non-high perf. brake pad, and you run it really hot you will make it “hard” when it gets hard it squeals and you cant stop it.

Happened to me with my last set, another thing was my one front caliper was starting to seize might of not helped the sitch.

Now I have raybestous ceramic pads up front and they dont squeal at all and I run the hell out of them.

HTH,

ya i just ordered some AEM break pads…hope they dont squeel either…

take the pads off and see if theres any shiny spots on them. If they are take some sandpaper and and sand on them till there all dull again. This should help.

What causes those shiny spots? Is this what they call, glazing?

Also, what grade sandpaper should I use?

TIA

Since we r on the topic of brakes…

I am having squealing brakes problem as well, but only when i brake in reverse…any suggestions or comments?

TIA
Ken

Rotors tend to “glaze” If rotors get glazed to much then you will receive “hardspots” and you can kiss your rotors goodbye, I think you should be able to sand down your pads…

The lower end brake pads tend to create a lot of brake dust, and it gets caught up in there and will squeel, so blow some air in there, if it doesn’t work, then just sand the pads down…
