I had a brake noise for a while, took a look at it tonight and found out that my right caliper is a little loose. Seems that the kind of sliding pins where the caliper bolts to the mounting bracket are loose, I can move the caliper by hand and the slack is coming from the sliding pins. Is this something happening often? Is there a rebuilt kit or something for this or do I have to replace the mounting bracket?
Any help appreciated here!
TIA
i’m not completely understanding what you’re saying. But i thought the sliding pins were supposed to be able to move freely in and out to a certian degree? that’s what allows the brakes to disengage. did you check the other side? was it the same?
The left side isn’t as loose as the right side. On the left, I can move it back and forth, but not sideways, but the right side as a real good amount of play in it… (i.e. the pins are sliding, but are also loose, on the left, they are only sliding, not loose)
I just bought some replacement sliding pins! Gonna be replacing them tomorrow!
