slid the caliper off the driver side front wheel and noticed that the the pads were worn severly uneven. the pad on the side you can’t see was worn down less than half way while the visible side was completely worn out. to note the car would rumble while breaking. can anyone tell me the cause of this?

most likely seized sliders
sounds like your sliders seized up. make sure to clean inside the bracket and the sliders very well and grease it all up before re installing everything.
