ive looked but i cant really find out what kind of replacement headlight bulb would be good at making my stock headlights brighter. and is there a yellow bulb i could put in the fog light, like the way i see one peace jdm headlights look.
any help would be cool. thanks
they make yellow covers for for legends i belive that fit. and for headlights. ive never tried them but the ones that get the best rating are the sylvania superstar ultra’s
Since it sounds like you have USDM lights. There is a write up on how to convert to 9007 bulbs. Those are brighter than the 9004 stock bulbs. I would try the conversion and use 9007 Silverstar Ultras.
And get the Legend fog covers. They look way nicer than buying yellow h3 bulbs.
Look in the For Sale threads to see if anyone is selling some.
thanks for all the help… i did find some info here. . so thanks all.
I had an H.I.D. kit with the one piece headlight/foglight combo. It was much brighter than the “super white” bulbs i had tried before.
The Sylvania Silver Star Ultra bulbs are nice, however they are far too blue for my taste, and at $50.00 a pair around where I live, I think the better bang for the buck are the original Sylvania Silver Star bulbs. They have a nice bright white light (in anything but the 9004 bulbs) and are a better buy at $38.00 a pair. Though, if you want the blue tint, the Ultras are the way to go, but I can’t see very well by the blue light, so I am just sticking with the original Silver Star bulbs.
If this helps anyone, I did the change over to Sylvania Silverstar 9007 bulbs, and they have made a world of difference. I can see better at night, and at $38.00 a pair, I think they are a great buy for bright white light.
The 9004 Silverstars arn’t very good? (I bought a pair, but am waiting to get my car back from the mechanic to install them)
I had both 9004 and 9007 Silverstars and wouldn’t call either very white. If your 9004s are unopened I would definitely return them and get some 9007s though. Huge difference in light on the road. Though I got flashed more with the 9007 Silverstars than with some bluish APC “80W” bulbs
i got some eurolite 9007 super plasma whites or w\e and there pretty bright
bump for piaa, super bright
going from 9004 to 9007 dont you supposed to swap 2 wires on the plug?
ive heard stories of the harness melting after doing it.
i read about the harness melting also. i swapped the two wires and have had no problems. i did this over a year ago and have made many trips where ive been driving at night for over two hours and had no issues.
depends on the wattage of the bulb…
for sylvania bulbs 9007 is only 10watts more than 9004
I went from 9004 to 9007 in the summer of 2006, headlights were still fine with no melting when I sold the car in March 2008.
for those that converted to 9007s, how long were your drives when you had/have the headlights turned on?
Little update, though I no longer have my Integra, I did switch to 9007 Sylvania Silverstars, never had any issue with the stock harness. I currently own a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, which uses 9007 bulbs natively, and I used my same Silverstars in it, till they burned out finally. Well, I bumped up to the Silverstar Ultras when the Silverstars burned out, and I have to say, they are better than I had thought, and I love them. I bought them on sale though, I picked them up for $44.00 instead of $50.00, which isn’t much cheaper, but it helped me get them none the less. While they are not a huge improvement over the normal Silverstars, they are worth the upto $10.00 more for them for the better view ahead. I am very big into buying the best I can afford for safety equipment (of which I consider headlights and brakes to be part of) and if you cant afford or don’t have the time to convert to HID, Silverstar Ultras or the plain Silverstars get a big  from me.
I drove most of a day with the headlights on in the rain once (Memphis to Dayton, with a stop at the Corvette museum), and there were probably other times I drove at least a few hours at a time with them on.
