broken cam cap bolt...need help

i have a b18a1 block with a b18b1 head that i just bought for $300 dollars(suppose to be rebuilt). well i was puttin it together and came across two broken cam cap bolts. they are on the very end by the transmission. they both have 3 bolts holding them down as of right now. wut should i do? wut can i do? will it be ok if i just torque the other bolts a lil more? and also one of the exhaust manifold bolts is broken off too. its on the corner by the transmission. will i have an exhaust leak even if i tighten the rest a lil more?

never torque engine bolts tighter than recommended. Ever. Do it the right way.

drill them out get a tap and die set and get some new studs. dont be cheap.

I’ve taken those bolts out with an extractor. Put a rag around the area where you will be doing the drilling at and use the extractor to get the bolt out. Ive done it this way many times and it has worked for me. Just make sure you drill at a slow speed going at a fast speed will burn the head on the bit.

I personaly just took mine to a shop and had them do it. cost me a whole $20. I can never hold a drill strait anyways. so it was a worth while investment for me:shrug:

is any of the bolt sticking up? get a pair of plyers and twist it out. other wise just take it to a shop and have them do it
only tourque to 7 lbs

oh, ok. what about the exhaust manifold? will machine shops do it while its in the car? or will i have to take it to them out of the car?

no you will have to take it off and take it to a shop. but if any of the bolt is sticking out there are a few things you can do plyers. or if there is a little you can take a bolt and put over it and have someone weld the nut to the stud and then pull it out.
thanks

yeah, i wish part of it sticking out, but theres not. that would make things so much easier. newayz, thanks for all the replies. oh yeah, can a bad front lower motor mount snap an axle?

not off of the bat, but over a period of time it can wear an axel down, I would think atleast

wut will happen if i start the motor how it is?

when the engine heats up, metals expand. Uneven torque + heat will warp something. Best not to drive far if you plan on it. Just dont do it.
