I have a broken stud in the engine how do I repair it?(one that connects head to valve cover)
Just take off the valve cover and use a wrench to take out the stud thats broken.
Really, I feel a little dumb lol sorry a little new to the forum. Also do you know how to remove a broke bolt like the ground one the head broke off
Its cool everybody was new at one point. Yeah just remove the valve cover you can see that its easy to remove.
Alright thanks
where can i purchase a new bolt and nut/cap???
Just go to your local Acura Dealer, or a junkyard. You can also try www.acuraautomotiveparts.org but they charge horrendous handling and shipping fees so its usually only worth ordering from them if you’re ordering a lot of parts.
Know of any one parting out a b18a?
Most people aren’t going to be parting out pieces of a motor…
for bolts wit a broken head you can drill and tap it out.
get a drill bit roughly 2/3 the size of the broken bolt have a small oil can nearby to squirt a drop or 2 every few minutes to prevent the bit from getting stuck in the bolt and drill down the center of the bolt… BE VERY CAREFUL AND TAKE YOUR TIME!!! you want to stay as close to dead center as possible. May even want to use a center punch to knoc a dent in the center of the busted bolt to use as a guide… then grab an EZ out and try to back it out that way…
if you cannot get it that way you slowly increase the size of your drill bit being very careful not to drill into the threads of the block. Once you have that sucker to where you can hit it with a center punch and dent a side to loosen the broken bolt tap it out then geta tap & die set to clean the threads for the bolt hole. ( learned this trick in the Navy after cross threading a engine bolt on a Allison K17-505 turbine )
As far as a b18a motor you can usually find com[plete engines for 400 bucks or less if you shop craigslist. Otherwise troll the for sale thread here B18A motors are pretty cheap.

Unfortunatly the closest PnP to you is in Tallahassee FL and thats 550 km away, but you must have bone yards in Baldwin. 94
