broken windows working motor

so my windows gave out and i dont really have money to go somewhere to get it fixed i tried to check the switches with a multimeter but i think im doing it wrong? i know the motors work it should be the switches not the wiring right?

i don’t know about if its completely not working, but if your windows roll up slow,

often the sliders are misaligned…it often happens in newer vehicles too

my friends dad works at the acura dealer and he did something and it rolled my window up he said its either the switch or the wiring because the motor and regulator are fine

If none of the windows work from any switch check the main fuse, fuse 16 -20A, [hot in run] in under dash fuse box, confirm you have power at fuse 16 when ign, switch is in run.
Check fuses 7, [front drivers] 2, [front pass.] 8 and 6, [rears] all 20A, in under dash fuse box, also confirm there is power to those fuses when ign. is in run.

If fuse 16 is good and you have power when ign. switch is in run but there is no power at fuses 7, 2, 8, or 6 the power window relay is bad.

If all the above is good pull drivers door switches and test for power on the white/yellow and blue/black, if you have rears the yellow/black and green/black, all should be hot when ign. switch is in run.

If you have power at fuse 7, 2, 8 and 6 but no power at the switches it is a connection problem in the door to dash harness connector.:corn:94

all of my fuses are good, haven’t checked the drivers switch i hope its not the wiring cause i have no idea what to do with the wiring

OK the fuses are good, I also asked you to confirm you have power at the fuses, have you done that?:tapfing:94

yeah theres power to the fuses

Next stop window switch in drivers door.:corn:94

ive tested all the wires the switch has no powerr so i need a new master switch right?

If you have power at fuse 7, 2, 8 and 6 but no power at the switches it is a connection problem in the door to dash harness connector.94

Some place between the fuse box [fuses 2 and 7 - front and 6 and 8 - rear if you have them] and the switch there are at least two open circuits, power for the drivers window, [white/yellow] and pass. window, [blue/black].

You will need to trace where that connection is broken, if there is no power on the white/yellow and blue/black at the plug to the master switch, [when ign. switch is on] then the next place I would look is at the dash harness plug to door harness plug, clipped through the “A” pillar and the inside the door jamb boot, wires running between the cars chassis and the door are constantly being bent back and forth, the break may be there, the plugs themselves can become corroded and the break may be there.
Peel the rubber boot off the plug at the “A” pillar and you will be able to get to the retainers/clips that need to be pressed in to unplug the door harness plug from the dash harness plug, on the door end of rubber boot, the boot is a grommet and it can be pushed into the door, [or peeled out] once inside the door you can undo one or two harness clips, [hold downs] and pull the harness out the speaker hole to make any repairs.
Before you go through all that work test the white/yellow and blue/black leads as soon as you peel the rubber boot off the door harness plug, you can peel the boor back far enough to see if there are broken leads inside the boot and be able to get a meter probe into the plug at the power leads pin locations, if there is no power then the problem is before or at the plug connection, unplug and inspect pins for corrosion, if none, remove dash harness plug from “A” pillar and pull it into the car and test for power at the wire end of the plug, same colors, if no power there it gets harder, you will need to find the plug, [in the fuse box] that has the white/yellow and blue/black and test for power there, if no power there replace the fuse box, if there power there, [you have confirmed you have the right leads by pulling fuse 2 and 7 while testing] then the break can only be in the dash harness between the fuse box plug and the dash harness to door harness plug, that will really be a pain, lets hope it’s not that.:corn:94

oh shit i think ill have to wait until sunday until i can do that ahhh:dozing:
