Car Background
So, I bought this car off of VADriven.com from a guy that lives near Williamsburg, VA for $2,500 with 193K on it. I thought it was a reasonable deal since the looked like it was in really good shape. Come to find out I needed to replace my brake master cylinder and exhaust which isn’t too bad since my family owns a garage so I got everything at cost and no labor charges. Besides that the car in fact is in really good shape no rust except two little spots.
Like I said I had to move for a job and I bought this car. I moved to Hoboken, NJ and I did not want a nice car here especially after visiting and finding out the horrible parking situation. Anyway the end of my second month my car was stolen…They took the eBay headlights (in the picture above), taillight, radio, speakers, all the change in the car, AND my stock rubber pedal cover. Who does that steal the rubber covers that is just effed up. My feet were slipping all over the place when the bottoms of my shoes were wet. So fail…
So obviously I got my car back a put it back together with all stock parts, no more crappy eBay headlights with horrible light pattern…
I was on the fence for a long time whether I wanted to keep this or buy something else but after changing my spark plugs, spark plug wires, and few other maintenance things the car runs great and I fell in love with it all over again. So I figured I would at least start a thread to get me motivated to start modifying this thing.
cars looks minty and clean. congratz on the pick up.
Thanks man. I just dont know where I want to start. I def want to do a engine swap later but I dont know if I want to go with B or K. So for right now I think I am going to be concentrating on suspension. I am thinking about Konis with Ground Controls unless there is a better coilover option for under 1k. I mean as of right now its just my grocery getter but I plan on going to auto cross and road courses with it later.
suspension is a great place to start. it might have the same tierd old motor, but she’ll fell like a whole new car.
Truth. Suspension is a great place to start. Sway-bars were probably my best upgrade. Couple that with a decent coilover/spring setup and, as BLKACK1 said, it will feel like a whole different car.
Clean pick-up for sure… looks like a good platform for a mean K-build hint hint
looks good nice start any more pics
