Building your own furniture

Good deal. I want pics.

Got some stuff done on the router table’s cabinet today.

Top is 2 sheets of mdf laminated together. Contact cement is DEFINITELY an outdoors only product. Whew.

Will be topping it with some Formica laminate, color tbd. Thinking Stop Red at the moment. Trim around the top is some REALLY nicely figured curly maple I found; will trim out the rest of the table with hard maple as well. Either staining a dark shade or painting red for the case, not sure yet.

Ok so I got the table. Looks like they spray painted the top and legs. WTF. What do you think is the best way to get it off? Sand or strip?

sand.

As long as you’re sure it wasn’t done long enough ago that it’s lead based sanding is fine. Keep an eye on your paper; it’ll gum up pretty regularly.

It’s not furniture per se, but I finished my miter sled today and gave it a spin.

Gonna finish my spline jig tomorrow and see about doing one in walnut with maple splines.

Hose reel.
