Bumper/hood fitment problems

I know this is not a very good pic of what I am asking but you can see it half decent. You can see how in between the head lights the hood sticks out too far. The bumper edges are also slightly passed the fendedrs by about a 1/4". My question is, what do you guy’s figure my problem is with the hood fitment, is it the bumper being too far back ? or the hood is bent forward or something ? the back of the hood lines up witht the ends of the fenders perfectly so the hood ca’nt really be pushed back.

I would also like to know how i would go about correcting this issue ?

try taking off the bumper and putting a few washers between the bumper beam and the bumper mounts to push the bumper back out.its kinda ghetto but youll never see the washers, but it should solve the problem, also check your inner most headlight bracket[above the fog light] to see if your lights are evenly alligned.there are 3 lines on the rad. support and a point on the headlight mount

hey

look at the bumper reinforcement it could be rusted out the car looks like i mite of bumped into sumtin?

It might have bumped something, I just bought it this past saturday. it is going in for paint in the spring but I would like to have everything fit good for the time being.

I still for some reason do’nt think the bumper coming out will solve the hood problem, maybe though. I will check that stuff out

Thanks

My front-end is in the same situation as yours. You know what happened? I bumped into a car that suddenly stopped in front of me. A body shop I spoke to said that they would have to pull the front bumper out a bit to align with the hood.

well I see on the photo that the hood doesn’t really line up with the headlights either, did you ever take the hood off and it could have been bent in the front part?

Like I said, anyrthing is possible. I have owned the car for 6 day’s.

I bet it got hit. Mine’s the same way. The washer trick might work depending on how bad stuff is bent up.

mine is kind of like that, my corner lights look off and it annoys me, but my hood and fender and bumper lines up perfect so i dont understand it.

If it got hit, will replacing my bumper support correct my issue ? I’f that being bent is my problem I would rather replace than use washers.

i also have these 2 exact problems. my hood ooverhangs the headlights and the bumper ends overhang in the wheel well. i thought my hood problem was because the hood is from another car, coz my windscreen wipers cant be lifted up as the hood gets in the way. :s not sure wats going on with it. can u lift up ur wipers?

My wipers won’t stand up either and my front end lines up like its out of the show room. From your picture I’d say it’s your bumper pushed in. If you look at where the corners of the bumper meet the wheel opening it tells the whole story. If you don’t want to spend any money on new brackets and what not then the washer idea is the way to go. Don’t feel too bad though cause the american cars do that crap right off the assembly line. If you still think it’s your hood out too far then check your door gaps where the fenders meet the door. If the gaps are big then you could pull the fenders back a bit then move the hood back to line up nice with the fenders again. These cars are more difficult than others because there is no visible cowl to line the hood up to and know that it is straight.

I didn’t even notice a problem until you mentioned the corner lense :blah:
