Im looking to upgrade my suspension within the next month, I know Bwr is a good company, just wonder what yall think about these coils if they ride well, how many mile yall put on em without having to change shocks. lemme know what you think.
thanks,
Jake
From my understanding BWR is the same as F&F, K-Sport, Blox, Megan, Stance etc. They are generic coil-overs that all offer meritocracy. If you are worried about having to replace the shocks look into better companies like Koni, Eibach etc. This has been covered many times but for the price point, just do more research, spend a little more and get something that will get the job done in one shot.
What do you suggest, I dont want to spend stupid amounts of money on a coil over, I have been thinking of koni yellows on ground controls, as I have heard good things. Thoughts?
if you getting a set mainly for daily driving and just to lower the car…i hear great things about F&F type 2 coilovers
A lot of people will recommend Koni + GC as the best setup for the money. You could easily buy or piece together a used set and you will be much happier in the end. F & F are junk.
BWR is a good company? Might as well buy megan imo…
You get what you pay for. I would rather wait and save up for koni/gc than buy a cheap part and replace it repeatedly. I would stay on your current setup before BWR, my .02
Thanks for all the input guys, im going to go with the koni/gc cause I want a decent amount of handling im not worried about a rough ride, I wont be going for the bwr since koni/gc is barely anymore and everyone say its great!
I have GC Sleeves and Skunk2 Struts! Ride nice
The koni yellows are adjustable. So if you daily it you can have it on the soft setting and get a decent ride and then turn it to hard when you want better handling. Sure there are other ways to go with suspension but if you can afford the GC/koni set up you will never need to worry about it.
Im rocking Koni/GC, awesome for the price.
thanks all, gonna try to order em when school lets out!
Sleeves chatter alote and ride rougher than real coilovers. I’d say you save more for a full body coilover, I have sk2 pro s2 for 2 years now still no issues and I daily it .
Man im on tein s techs with oem shocks, comfortability shouldnt be much of an issue it can ride worse than this plus ill have the valve adjustment on the koni but what do you mean chatter? everyone say gc/konis are great
After time the aluminum sleeve wears down or bends and threaded area starts to rub against the inner spring and eats up the thread. Sleeves start the hit against the shock and rattle on random bumps. I had sleeves and thought I was good, until I got skunk2 coils. Now I never look back.
