was wondering if any of you guys that live in so cal got for your headers.
i’m thinking of upgrading my 93 ls, but not sure what headers would be good to put on it.
i’d rather have a smog legal upgrade, so that i wouldn’t need to replace it every smog check.
your input would be greatly appreciated

Hedman Chikara headers have CARB EO number D-167-16.
i heard greddys are also carb exempt… are all of them exempted or just some?
saw some cheap megan headers here, that’s why i was asking around.

megan dont have a carb number.
chikara are carb exempt. i herd there TQ step header is very good and there same price as a megan. ill check into them
It would be nice if Megan would get CARB exempt since it’s stainless, that’s the only thing stopping me from picking one up. I’ll probably wind up with the Hedman stepped header… which is pretty cool, cause i had a pair of Hedmans on my '72 Chevy pickup, it was a nice header.
i like the ceramic look so i might send them in to get jet coated inside and out to keep temps down. i hear its more effective then header wrap

thinking of upgrading the exhaust system, but don’t want to swap the header in and out for smog.

is the dc sports jdm replica with 2.5 inch collector carb exempt? if it is thats the way i wanna go. if not then ill settle for less. headers are hard choice because some you lose bottom and gain top. sone you gain bottom and lose top. i hear the kamikaz are the best all around header but not carb exempt. they check that shit around here to, so i have to have all exempt parts.

carb exempt headers are a lot more expensive than the regular ones though… so it’s pretty tough for us californians :argh:

more expensive but a better header all around. if you saw how much R&D goes into a name header compared to a off name knock off threres a huge differance. and it cost alot of money to get a part carb exempt. if it werant for people doing everything illegal it wouldent be so hard on us in the fisrt place. but hey kids gotta have there bee in a can rattler exhaust as loud as they can get it. so lets all take the time to give a big thanks to the poser rice burners.
